when i switched over to my summer wheels this spring, i noticed that there is a loud howling sound coming from the front of the car while driving. Upon deaccelerating, i get a small vibration that feels like it is coming from the front wheels (vibration changes with speed) I thought it was my wheelbearing, so i replaced my passenger front last week, didnt do anything. i am replacing driver front this week to see if it goes away, but wanted your opinion to see if it may be something else. Initial thought after i replaced first bearing was maybe tire noise? they are cheapish tires (wanli s1088) and i noticed some extra wear on the inner side of the tire so perhaps this was the cause? Secondly.. my CV? a couple of months ago (right before winter) the inside of my wheel KEPT getting dirty and greasy.. i thought nothing of it until i switched over to my winter wheels when i saw that my cv boot on the passanger side was torn open. upon realizing this i started banging my head because i had driven close to 600 miles with it torn open (to and from boston and rochester ny) i immediatly got it fixed and no problems seemed to have occured until now. could a damaged cv cause this howl at all speeds and small vibration during low speed deacceleration?
