Just moved to Socal...Riverside..a few Questions

hey guys I just moved to Cali and all my knowledge (and hook-ups) of service and tuning shops is useless. I NEED an oil change pronto and wanted to know of decent tuning shops in the area and a few other things. I live in Corona and I'm not spending $90 at the stealership for an oil change. Here's what I need:

    1. Service center for oil changes, tire rotatations, mounting and/or balancing 18" wheels.

    2. Tint shop that's not gonna install tint that will turn purple.

    3. A body/paint shop that's not gonna rape me ($650 )just to paint a front spoiler.

    4. How lenient are the cops here? I see everyone driving pretty fast. What's the deal? Will I get pulled over for going 10mph over?

    5. Where are most of the GTG's?

Thanks in advance. I'm in a new area and I don't know shit.

Genesis is OK...charged me $128.00 for an oil change, a little high IMO. I call, and call, and always get some chick on the voicemail, and never get any return calls, kind of turned my away now, been trying to schedule some work with them.

Check with Car Craft in Riverside, 30+ years experience, inexpensive, quick turn around. Great for timing belt service, only uses OEM parts. I will be going there from now on.

Good luck, whom ever you choose, both are good.

Hi Mike, i'm sorry to hear that. our phone system is still not perfected and i truly apologize that you have to go through that.
i just want to clarify some stuff, the reason why your oil change cost $115 including tax is because you have a V8 that took 8.5 quart of oil and we used MANN filter that's not cheap. we try to be reasonable but in some cases it's just unavoidable. once again i apologize for the unpleasant experience. but we're still here in case you need anything from us.

Yea, the phone system, needs a major overhaul...never get an answer...which is good if you are all under the hoods of cars, means business is good, but bad for someone that is trying to bring you new business.
Oh, I know the 4.2's are not cheap, and you have to pay to play, but Walter's Audi, only charged $94.00, and they are way over priced on everything. I just had it done there since they were handling a recall. I will try and call again to schedule my CEL check and fix. Is there a better time to call then other times. I mainly call 10-11 AM, and just get the answer machine.

Re: Just moved to Socal...Riverside..a few Questions

cops can be a lil linient, I have had experiences of cops driving right past me doin 80, but to be on the safe side if I do see a CHP on the on the highway I just make sure im cruising at 75 or a lil below.
I'm not too familiar with tint shops out in the I.E. but I do know a really good one over in Walnut called Tintworks and the price is very reasonable as well.
I know you are at Genesis and I would agree with others that they are a great shop, but another great shop in Riverside that deals with all German vehicles especially VW's is
http://abdracing.com/ go ahead and check them out. As pricing goes with them, I'm not too sure.

They can chime in, but I think Genesis gets most of the work that ABD messes up. Just my opinion, they might know V-Dubs, but looked baffled when I had them work on a Stage 3 S4. I would say skip those guys.

Mike next time try to call between 11-12. usually 10-11 we are pushing all the cars out and cleaning out the bay to get ready for the day, so no one is really in the office.
yes i understand that the dealer usually gets a better deal when they buy oil and filters because they buy in bulk and we don't. so in that case we can't beat them in pricing. once again i apologize and we will get a new phone answering system as soon as we can.

No worries, what can we work out if I bring in a filter? I ended up just buying a case of them.

just wanted to chime in and give my 2 cents. Genesis isba good place with good people. I built instant rapport with the staff and actually ended up knowing one of them thru here. My price out the door for my oil change was $75.00. Dealer wanted $90.00

Thanks for the hospitality Rezie and inviting me to the meet that night.

I've gone to Tint Zone in Rowland Heights for 4 of my cars, they've done a great job every time... very careful, even details like filing down the edges on windows with no door frame... and very fairly priced.

Folks drive fast because they need to take advantage of an open freeway when they can. There are basically two speeds in SoCal 80mph and 10mph.
