    Arrow 1.8T A4 B7-Air Induction Kit-Help PLZ

    Hello there.

I own an A4 B7, but here in Greece it has also come with the 1.8T 20vt engine.

So I am writing here to ask you something about my engine...

As I see you have gone on a Big Turbo solution...I am also going for either GT3071R or GT35...

I am now starting buying things for the engine. What I'd like to ask, is what air induction kit to use, so as to put it now in my K03, but most of all, take it for the future for my Big Turbo which is coming soon enough...

I was going for the TTDA, but was informed that it cant go in our engines because of the way they are put...(I mean not transverse)...

So I was thinking about a simple Air Filter KN with Φ=100. What do you guys think.??

Here are some pics of my car...

the stock box is the best option just use a high flow filter!

No man. For 500whp which is our target, stock air box is not an option.

So if someone please told me... :)

    Thanks

A 3071R or 35R is going to use nothing close to what the stock turbo would so dont even waste your time trying to make it work for both.

Most likely your going to have a custom TIP as all BT setups larger than a 28RS right now are mostly "custom" for the B6

Heres my 3071R using an ATP manifold

    Open Turbo

Or with my 4" to 3" TIP with a 3" VR6 MAF (Basically a 4" to 3" Elbow, 3" aluminum connector, 3" Silicone onto the MAF, 3" VR MAF, then a 3" filter on the other side of the MAF)

I am not so much interested about the stock turbo...
But just put it there until my GT comes along...I am concerned about the filter in the big turbo...As i see your second picture, I was thinking about a filter right onto the turbo which "looks' into the front of the car and sucks air behind the headlight...

    What do you think...?

Which is the diameter of the GT3071 / GT35...? (in cm if possible... :( )

Thanks for the help my friend

One TIP is not going to work for both, so get that idea out of your head. What manifold do you plan on running? Ive yet to see a setup where a filter fits directly on the turbo and clears in the B6.

Not sure what your asking the diameter of? The inlet on the turbo? Ive got a 4" inlet. With a full framed GT3071R or GT3582R (T3 flange) your options are 3" or 4"

If i can see correctly Shawn(A4RingedONE8T) ran the filter from the lower part of his bumper where u would get direct air from the outside through the foglight grille, if u let it sit behind the headlight, one there is no air flowing in, and 2 u'd be sucking in direct hot air from the engine(not good), so either run it through the foglight area, or place the filter near the stock air box area, and put a heat shield!

Yea thats why I asked what manifold you were planning to use, turbo placement is all dependent on it. First one is a B5 with a full race tubular manifold and the second is Autospeed which uses the Treadstone mani

So a tubular type? May want to consider placement of the turbo then to fit the type of TIP you plan to have, or if you plan to have a filter directly on the turbo. Keep in mind the more you push the turbo back to accomplish this, the harder the downpipe is going to be to fit.

What do you plan to run for tuning?

Today I am going to check what PiperCross gives for air filters in my local CarShop...

If you want the specs I've thought on the project, I will give them to you...

Everything is being bought one by one, so as to put them all together...

Yesterday I was searching on the net to find the Kit of AUTOSPEED I showed you, but absolutely no luck...Can you help me...?
    It seems pretty cool...
otherwise i am going for an HKS mushroom type filter, or GReddy AirInx, or PiperCross....

Edit: I found the site autospeed.us, however I can see nowhere the intake kit in the photo above...I will ask them whats wrong...
