    Question Noob needs DIY...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, I'm new to this forum as this is the first Audi I've owned. I'm not new to the forums though. I just sold a very modified Acura TL-S and have been of Acurazine for several years and without that I wouldn't have been able to do half of the mods that I did. Having said that I need a DIY to remove the center console from my 08 B7 A4 Avant.

I've searched this and other forums but there is only one from like 1998 and its quite different. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Jeff

Check www.audiworld.com if you haven't already.

I have an '07 Avant, so I could always take a look at mine as well if you can tell me exactly what you're trying to remove.

Do you mean the stereo portion? That comes out with the use of four anti-theft stereo removal tools. I've seen them on Ebay, but I don't know what to search for to find them.

    Re: Noob needs DIY...

thanks for the input so far... I f'd up taking the ashtray out and need to get it back into place, so I need to get behind the climate control. I thought the center console had to come out but apparently not. I ordered the radio removal tools and will go that route.

    Any other input is welcome.

    Pix coming soon.

    Thanks, Jeff

I don't think you need to take out the climate control to get the ashtray in and out...though I could be wrong. The trim surround around the shifter does pop out, that might help. It is attached with four clips, one at each corner. Pull up on the front edge first, then work your way back to get it completely out. It will lift up right over the shifter.
