    will cheaper work??

alright i know i posted a question similar to this a while ago but i kind of wanna go a cheaper route. since im saving money for lowering, tinting, exhaust, and HIDs, i dont want to spend that much on my intake. my cousin has a filter already so i was wondering if i would be ok if all i got were adapters to hook up the filter?? that way i could get intake for like 10 bucks, as apposed to over 100, which i think is really just for looks anyways.. is this right or am i totally off??

so ya, basically i just wanna know if just getting adapters would be ok for my car? or should i actually buy a whole kit (pipe, filter, adapter, etc)?

and also, if yes on the adapters.. i found some on ebay, but would they also sell them at autozone or someplace like it?

    thanks

adapter? the maf go's right on the TIP and a cone filter go's right on the maf.

but you should get a bracket to hold the hole setup in place and a heatsheild so you dont get heat soke on the filter

You will need to buy an adapter because there is no real way to bolt a filter onto the MAF without it... You can get them for CHEAP on eGay...

How do you get that? Cone filters like from K&N have a flange built in and the maf has a lip that allows you to clamp the flange onto it. Just have to get a filter with the correct size flange.
