while this is kinda harsh and uncalled for, its not like we havent seen b6 sport rims painted black. it is getting slightly repetitive/old...

I think I'm going to agree..

BUT tire shine + painted lowers would make it look much better.

I'm thinking of painting my stock 17s gun metal when I fix up the curb rash.

It bugs the hell out of me to see audi, or bmw, etc owners painting their stock wheels. Either leave the stock ones alone or get some real wheels. Painting stock wheels on a luxury car cheapens it. Period.

not everyone can afford $1000+ on a wheel and tire setup. sport wheels look great and can look better with a decent paint setup. not everyone has a grand to throw away on wheels and tires. so stop hating and give the guy some props for his diy. it take much more skill to prep and paint wheels then it does to drop your car off at a shop and tell them what to do.

and i hate to tell you, but a b6 isnt exactly a luxury car, sport sedan maybe. they can be had for at or around 10k now adays. yeah they have some of the nicest interiors and looks for the price, but its not like our cars need to be put on a pedistal. chill out

Your comments are laughable at best. No offense, but props for being able to use tape a spray can? Come on, seriously?

I will certainly agree that it takes more skill than dropping your car off at a shop and swiping a credit card, but in reality any two bit moron could do either.

And as far as the b6 not being a luxury car goes, just because a car can be had for ~10 grand doesn't make it any less of a luxury car. I'm sure I could go out and spend 30 grand on a honda civic on ebay, and guess what, it's not a luxury car. Price has little to do with it really.

Not trying to offend you, just being a little curt.

    God this is hilarious.

8520, post up some pics of your car so we can have a go at it.

I feel a have a slight "theme" goin.

Anyways, tire shine is the last thing this car needs at the moment. haha. I had bird shit all down the passenger side, thus why the pics are only of the driver side.

I pretty much hate this car so I don't care if the wheels "cheapened" the look of it. Who cares! Seriously, you can have a B6 A4 for cheap, USP even if you look hard enough. It's not that special of a car anymore.

Putting down the work of others is pretty uncalled for. For many of the members on this board, a simple mid a this may be the first thing they have ever done to their car, or it may simply be the beginning of many mods to come.

Back in 2004 I bolted a GT28RS on my engine when they naysayers were still goofing around with K04s and T28s.

One modification at a time, respect them all.

I appreciate the work put in by the OP but I have to agree that plain black painted stock wheels do cheapen the car/make it look Civic-like. Why not re-paint them the stock color if they are scratched? Or maybe a gunmetal, like the titanium b7 package.

IDK, maybe they would look better if the lowers were painted. Just my opinion.

also, I don't think that price necessarily defines luxury. Would you personally rather have a 12-15k used b6 or a new Impala for 20k or so?

Good job on the brash assumption. You can somehow magically tell how good of a paint job his wheels are from those pictures? From what I can see they could either be a 20min quick job or a 5 hour tape/prep/spray, etc.

And for what it's worth, I have properly painted several sets of wheels before. That being said, my ability to paint a set of wheels is a moot point.

Oh, and my e-penor is huge. Just kidding [:P]

    Completely agree on all points

That being said, come on now, you don't want all the amenities that the impala has to offer? Daytime running lights, passenger seatbelt reminders, speed sensitive volume, AND factory sat radio. THE CHOICE IS OBVIOUS!

i wasn't making any assumptions (that i know of) -- you said yourself that any half-wit moron could paint a set of wheels; and i was just saying that, that isn't true. and i guess from what you also just said, we're both half-wits. and we both have reduced one or more cars to the level of honda civics... (which i didn't know was a bad thing to begin with? i've seen civics that are nicer than 90% of the cars on this entire forum)

there needs to be an official e-dong thread where everyone posts up their size and any increases/decreases just so we can keep track of who's king-shit around here.

good job on the painting part, but I'm not feeling it. I think something lighter, perhaps gunmetal, would look better?

Not bad... but not great... I think flat black looks better, but it is your car and if it flows for you then that is all that matters...this place is all about the love of the car not bashing people for trying something that has been going on for a long time.. color matched or not color matched, blacked out, painted center, pinstriped, custom center caps, just to name a few wheel options people do to stock wheels, middle of the road wheels, or nasty high end wheels... it is nice IMHO to have your car stand out from the rest of the everyday audi drivers.. happy moding

i'll get pictures of them asap point was/is that any car can be done nicely, and I've seen plenty of cars which carry a "bad" or "ricer" type connotation that would far outshine the majority of cars on here. both in performance, tastefully done interiors, cleanliness, etc etc etc.

with that being said - i still like my a4 better than any honda hahahaha

i do wish you luck with the paint though. my first set i painted i used krylon(non fusion) and it started chipping in a couple of weeks.
