I'm looking into getting a cupra lip, but i'm having an issue on how to install it. since most of you have read in other threads, my car is a lease, and i can't drill holes in the front. is there any way i can put the lip on, maybe with adhesive. i really want to do this mod, but drilling is not an option. let me know. thanks.

Use some 3m double stick tape, i also know of some glue called zap and kick it is hobby glue and works very well. dont know how it would hold up to ny weather though.

    Re: Cupra lip install?

I've just fitted mine... as it doesn't quite follow the shape of the bumper, I don't think you'd be able to fit it without screwing it into position - the plastic would revert to its original shape & pull away from the adhesive.

I used a Dremel to trim the centre struts (a touch too much unfortunately) & flatten the tabs. Then I drilled guide holes on the splitter & secured it in place using thick masking tape, making sure the measurements were matching left & right etc. Then i got on the floor & used black self tapping screws to secure it onto the bumper. I need a couple of slightly longer screws and possibly a couple of washers to secure the centre struts to the bumper - I'll see what it looks like, but I may resort to buying another one from Seat (only £17!) and having another go.

Anyway, I digress... unless you can heat the splitter, or somehow make it follow the shape of the bumper, I think screws (through each tab) are your only option.

You can always touch the tiny holes in with hot glue & use a chip stick to paint over the glue?! You really wouldn't be able to tell unless you stuck your head on the floor next to the car.

For real? It is a VAG Spanish car manufacturer in europe. Google it. As for the OP, I really do not think a few tiny holes will matter in a lease return. People return leases with scuffed up lower front bumpers and don't get dinged for it.

Dang, you need to get out of the US and travel a bit, Seat is an european car manufacturer as popular as GM here in NA

    Re: Cupra lip install?

Seat make the Leon, and hence the splitter you're talking about!

    http://www.seat.co.uk/generator/su/u...site/main.html

I used to have a modified Seat Ibiza, which got me into VAG cars... then I bought an Audi A3 (which I don't think they sold in the US - something to do with you lot not liking smaller cars or something I expect ), then an A4 2.0 FSi Ultrasport B6 & now my B7.

Anyway - here's a pic of the Seat Leon Cupra wearing it's splitter:

They're really good cars - VAG build quality & the 1.8T from the Mk4 Golf (Rabbit?!) GTi - plus they're not a brand that springs to mind immediately so you can pick one up for good money.
