Anyone using an ER Sport fmic with the oem front bumper?

Ok, so this weekend i installed my southbend clutch, s4 brakes, and er sport fmic......happy with everything, and all went great, EXCEPT, the getting the front bumper back on to fit with the er sport was not so great.....in particular the driver side fog light area was a major pita.......anyone else have issues in this area?? i cut as much as i thought i possibly could but i still had to force bumper on and thus the fitment still looks off on both sides where it attaches to the fenders.......maybe ill throw a pic up....

anyway, i ended up trimming enough of the bumper and the fog light housing to get eveything to fit, just not fit as good as it should!!!

    any tips would be great!

otherwise its a great intercooler!! gtrs goes on in a couple days!!!!!

Try removing the fog light leveling knob. Take it out, then trim the housing that goes around it. It should fit no problem. Heres some pics from back in the day, first of mine w/ ER comp second of Oregonaudi's w/ ER sport.

i did remove that leveling knob, and the useless lower holder things that run along the bottom of the lower grill, that dont really hold anything on haha.....i must be missing something else.....

can someone tell me what size core, including end tanks that fits behind the stock bumper, that allows me to keep my fog lights?

I have that exact setup. It should all fit. I didn't install it, but I have all my foglamp associated hardware and ER Sport.

Re: Anyone using an ER Sport fmic with the oem front bumper?

Try checking to see if you have the lower cold pipe (driver's side) on the right way. It is possible to put it on backwards. Putting it on backwards will make fitment very bad. Also, do not tighten the t-bolt clamps on both the top and bottom intercooler pipe until you have the orientation right. You can clamp the top pipe facing too far forward (towards the radiator) and throw the fitment on the lower pipe off, pushing it forward.

There should not be a need to trim anything on the fog light cover on the Sport FMIC. You should also not need to remove the fog light leveling knob. There should be ample room to clear.

Removing the fog light leveling knob is not required for the Competition FMIC. It can be installed with it on. However, it does make contact with it so if it doesn't bother you, you should remove it ONLY on the Comp FMIC. The Comp FMIC has 2.5" cold side piping. The Sport FMIC has 2.25" cold side piping and therefore more space to clear.

Every now and again, I get calls with issues like this.

If you guys are having installation problems, please contact us. We will gladly help with any issues. Customer support after sale is as important to us as customer support before sale ;)

I don't troll the forums often enough to see questions. You got lucky today hehe.

Re: Anyone using an ER Sport fmic with the oem front bumper?

Thanks a lot, unfortunately its too late to recover the foglight leveling screw, but fortunately i dont really care about that haha.

Ill definitely have to play with the piping fitment this weekend if i can cause my bumper is annoying the heck out of me!! Thats probably just what it is, the piping needs adjusted....i dont think i put it in backwards, but im not going to rule anything out at this point....when i get a chance to look at it this weekend, ill post up my results!

for the time being, woot for no heatsoak! gtrs install begins tonight and should be done by friday.......
