Thinking about tracking my car....info needed

Well a couple of the Tech's here at my dealership are going to track days at PIR (pecific internation raceway) in Auburn, WA this Weds and they all told me i should go too!

I'm really thinking about it, but I have never drag raced before... What do i need to know about launching with a stock clutch... (i know I will probably get flamed for this comment)

Any idea what i should be running time wise?

Search the forum bro but as a general guideline: Tire pressure 42-44psi, avoid waterbox before staging, when staged IF u feel the car creeping forward put handbrake up 1 click( REMEMBER to release handbrake just as soon as u launch!) , launch @ about 4000rpm(blip the throttle in 3700rpm-4000rpm range while staging and leave on the tach needle upswing),slip the clutch dont dump or u will bog off the line..1-2-3 shifts @ 6200-6400 have worked best for me...you want a 60' time of 1.9(if u can crack a 1.8 then you just plain kick ass)..with this u should see about 14.0-14.3's ..60 ft times of 2.0-2.2 will yield mid 14's..reducing your 60ft times is key..if u get 13.9 or less well again your just a superior driver a/o your Audi was given special sauce from the factory..
my 1/8 mile best? 9.0 @ 76 mph..1.944 60ft, 5.798 330ft..is ok

So my co-worker is going to race me this weds at the track and he has a Mazdaspeed 3 with intake and exhaust and talks a lot of shit about how is just going to kill me....

How well am i gunna fair? I know right off the bat, a lot of this is in his favor (more HP, Less drivetrain loss FWD, car is probably lighter too). I know i have AWD and should get a better launch, but what do ya'll think?

he does have a limited slip diff. and is much ligher. all things being equal, he will burn you. if you're good with launching and shifting and he is not, then you might just edge him out. better get practicing if this is your first track time.

Its all about the launch! The guys doing the real quattro launches e.g kristokes and mike-2ptzero are getting the best times. Kristokes got a 13.7 quarter mile!
So if you do a good launch you should be able to keep up with the mazda 3 as he will be useless off the line.

Are you drag racing or doing the road course at Pacific Raceways? Who cares about drag racing an A4 because it is much more fun to do the road course especially with your car, have you done it before? This is a great road course because of the elevation changes. Your car is perfect for the road course, may I show you how it is done?

Fuck here we are very scared when doing it, cause the cars smells very very differently from its exhausts as you'll know when its decat...
And so if we go to places where some "fasts" hang out, you can easily get busted...
Well risk is nice sometimes...LoL...

You can even get busted if you are tinted, and if you dont have rear seats as I do...LoL

But the money you had to pay if you got caught, were 33euros, but now are...hold on...
