    Huper Optik 50% Tint

Finally got around to re-tinting the windows on my S4. When I first got the car I had 35% all around and after a few months of driving it was just too dark for me, especially on a black car with dark interior. After removing the tint, I read a post from channad (pronounced Channa - d) about the Huper Optik tint. I called Han over at Song's Tint Masters here in Los Angeles and scheduled an appointment.
These guys are great. Han emailed me dozens of photos to pick from and was very easy to talk to. They take a lot of pride in their work and are extremely professional. There were 4 people working on my car at all times. They don't work on their own, they work as team insuring a professional job. Their facility is very clean, have a great waiting room with a huge flat screen on the wall and it only took about 2 hours to do the job. After they finish the job they reschedule another appointment for you to come back within 2 weeks to completely push down the tint over the dot-matrix. This is the part where they really shine. They are very anal about the dot-matrix. They take a lot of time insuring that there are no air-pockets in the tint around the edges. If you are in the So-Cal area and are looking for a tint, I highly recommend these guys.
Here are some photos of the Huper Optik 50% tint. I am very happy with the results. Just dark enough while maintaing that OEM look and the heat reduction is incredible. Huper Optik is a little pricy, but very worth it!!

Special thanks to Channad for his post.

    Re: Huper Optik 50% Tint

What is the difference Huper Optik versus ceramic tint such as Formula One, which I had on my old A4?

    * NealRlett * Off Topic here but; how did you get the non-chrome window trim for your car? My OEM painted (chrome colored) trim is thrashed and I want to replace it.

    Thanks

    Re: Huper Optik 50% Tint

Formula One is the film I used to have on there. Not only did I go too dark but there was a certain look to the tint that was a little grey and metallic.
The main difference with the Huper Optik film is the heat reduction and its natural look. Since its 100% dye-free and 100% metal-free it looks very OEM, like privacy glass you may find on a Mercedes Benz. Next is the heat reduction. At the tint shop they had this demonstration utilizing a heat lamp inside a box of glass with a different film on each side. As you spin the box around you can feel the heat transmitting through all of the sides with the other brands of film until you get to the Huper Optik side. You can not feel heat at all!!! There is a reason why NASA uses it.

It's a little pricy, it's a little German, but it's the best out there hands down.
    Check out there website

Mine did the same thing. Started to fade and Audi did not want to do anything about it. I took the VIN off my buddy's Titanium packaged RS4 and ordered the parts through my local body shop. I will see if I can find the part #'s. I have always loved the titanium package that Audi offers. Not sure why Audi does not offer a titanium package for the S4 but I apparently made my own minus a few things. It ran about 700$ b/c you have to replace all the trim plus the back quarter windows. Pricy considering a titanium package I believe is 500$ when you purchase.

Great thanks! I'm basically left with doing the same thing. I didn't know if there were any after market solutions that I might have missed in my searching. I'm disappointed that Audi is not covering their cars nowadays like they used to. Anywho, I think the titanium looks nice on the S4 and your overall look is fantastic and unique. Well done!

If you do find the part numbers I would appreciate it! Thank you.

Awesome! I'm glad my post helped out. I'm actually going back to Han this week or next to check out some weirdness with the rear driver-side window. I'm glad you like the heat reduction. I love that part of the whole deal. It's functional, not just for looks, it has purpose.

    Your car looks great!

    Huper Optik all the way!!

Great heat reduction, ceramic tint, and great night time visability!! It's one of the pricier films on the market, and it's also a little thicker than most which makes it a little harder to install.

Make sure you find a good installer who knows how to install it correctly. My guy has a machine that laser cuts it to exact dimensions.

Will go with Hupers on ALL my cars from now on!

    Re: Huper Optik 50% Tint

Awesome! Great to see the work ahead of me doing it. I too bought my black B7 with 35% tint and don't like the fact that I can't have the front windows tinted to match (illegal here) and it's just a bit too dark for my taste. After looking at Raudi's car, I decided to go with 50% HP too. Your car looks fantastic.
