The 2.8 Head $25 Intake Manifold Solution

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I know many of you run 2.8 heads and put RS4 manifolds on there. Thats cool for $500, but I think a nice $25 solution couldnt hurt, so I did some extensive modification to get it to fit

Before, the 2.8 intake manifold mounted normally...

Now, its become an S4 manifold

I know the heads are dirty, I got them from the junkyard and just started cleaning them

Nice work on the flip Clint.

Does anyone know if there is a way to coat plastic to help it prevent from heat/cracking etc? Instead of laughing, perhaps you guys should give some credit to thinking differently and perhaps suggest an idea that what help.

It will be for a single setup. No y-pipe. The injector/fuel rail situation will be figured out shortly.

they fit just like normal, the ports are perfectly symmetrical on both sides so the manifold fits the exact same

For $25 dollars, you can't afford not to do it.

Nah, no secrets. Clint and I are going to do our best to get a single turbo setup running.

Parts are on order. I'll keep everyone posted as soon as more of it gets laid out.

    LOL, just like above.

Okay man, I will break it down for you.

#1 Audi is very good at tuning a manifold for an application. That one is great for N.A. and the normal one is great for F.I. There is a reason they look so different.

#2 Plastic. You ever hear those commercials where they say "Plastics make it possible"? Well 25+psi of boost on a 2.7t with that manifold is not one of those things that plastics make possible.

It hits the coolant pipe (that runs to the upper radiator hose iirc) in the valley. I also think the breather set up and turbo oil feed is in the way. I set one on a motor I have on a stand last week.
