    Re: Petrol Wheels???

Yeah.. I just found a price too... $680 per wheel... snap, they are three piece wheels though with stainless lip insert... made for Mercedes fitment in 5x112 et 30 in the 19x8.5 have a 3" lip and the 19x9.5 et 38 have a 4" lip.. I'm looking for a sweet staggered set up for my next wheel choice after the BT project is completed and these may be the ones... now I just need to hit the lotto...

    Re: Petrol Wheels???

As "Manhertm" stated, Petrol Wheels is owned and operated by TSW Wheels. So the quality of the wheel is very high, and most of their wheels are designed to have plenty of brake clearance to fit a wide variety of vehicle applications. Let me know if I can price you up for a set of those. I also do wheel & tire packages as well.

    Re: Petrol Wheels???

I like Petrol's wheels, they have some nice designs. I actually considered the ones you posted above for my car but they don't come in the sizes/offsets I need to clear my fenders when the car is laying on the ground (people with normal suspensions won't have that issue LOL).

I wouldnt exactly put quality and TSW in the same sentence. There higher end line here may definitely be better but still. If the same quality wheel could be made for 600 bucks, you wouldn't see Iforged, DPE, HRE, etc at over twice the cost!

Regarding fitment, anything with that size lip on our cars is NOT going to have much brake clearance for anything other than stock brakes

    Re: Petrol Wheels???

I would put quality and TSW in the same sentence. Have you actually seen their new multi-piece wheels in person yet? You will not be disappointed with the wheel. TSW takes pride and backs up their quality in all of their wheels.

The reason for the price difference between the Petrol multi-piece and other multi-piece wheels on the market is that the center of the wheel for Petrol is cast and the hoops are spun aluminum. Not full forged face & hoop or forged hoop/cast center So in doing that, TSW/Petrol has made a more affordable multi-piece wheel for the consumer. And TSW does do their homework when it comes to brake clearance issues, because more cars than ever before now require larger brake clearances. Their staff is very knowledgeable in which wheels have enough brake clearance for certain cars and which do not. The picture of the wheel that is posted is for the rear, not the front.

Thanks for the response! I wasnt trying to say they were shit but I just cant imagine the quality to be that substantial. Regarding brake fitment, I am still very doubtful as I know what I went through getting wheels and getting my HRE's built around my 355 Alcon's. Not the easiest task, even for HRE, and I highly doubt a production big lipped wheel would have the correct spoke design and strength to clear some of today's BBK's

    Re: Petrol Wheels???

There is no doubt HRE, DPE, IForged and so on are the greatest thing next to sliced bread... but some of us just don't find it practical to spend that much.. these seem very nice for my application and a nice upgrade from my AT Italia Nidos, which are a two piece wheel cast center, forged hoop which I really like and will keep as winter wheels.... never bent one and used them year round, on all roads from North Conway, NH, to Norfolk, VA and everything in between... I will give you a call soon about an estimate on tire and wheel package

    Re: Petrol Wheels???

I see what you are saying. And in regards to the brake clearance, TSW build their wheels to clear most factory brakes, not BBK upgrades. It is more common knowledge now days that if you do install a BBK, you will have to go with a wheels that are built with BBK clearance such as Volk, Iforged, DPE, HRE and so on because a large majority of wheels out there are not built with BBK clearance in mind, only factory brake clearance.
