so my horn doesnt work. this guy i used to take my car to said the clock spring in the steering wheel was bad, but its like $500 dollars so i said srew it. then i got a second opinion and he said the horns are known for going out. so i bought some new horns (since it was cheaper) and that didnt fix my problem.

well i just found a used clock spring on ebay for $20, but its out of a 98 A4. do you guys think it really matters? i know most stuff is interchangeable but before i go and buy it i want to make sure it will work.

    p.s. i have a 2001 A4

If the listing has a part number, you can cross referancer the part number from an online used/new Audi parts dealer. What I personally do is call the dealership and request part numbers, but this is the weekend. Either way should get you the part number to see if they are interchangable. Ask the dealer or look up same part for another year to see if part numbers match.
