Anyone?? Looking to black the roof and mirrors out and entertaining the idea.. Additionally, any one know the average cost to expect for both options..

I've done it to my B6. It should cost you round 50 for the vinyl. Make sure you follow the instructions cause its easy to mess up if done incorrectly.

everyone on the forum is doing it, but it's not played out. i rarely see any modded a4's around long island. besides when we have our meets.

i actually heard some place sells vinyl cutouts for our roofs. anyone know what i'm talking about?

^ well i've seen the cutout go right over the fin and there is a cutout for the sunroof too. you just would have to paint your antenna black. i may keep mine white to go for that "oreo" look. and then pop on a black roof spoiler.

Hmm, that would be rather different... painting it would not be too hard.. little prep, and if you dont like it, sand it down, color match locally, have a spray can mixed up and your off to the races....BTW - would there be any reason that the mirrors would not be able to get done in this same process??

BTW, that exhaust turned out pretty good, got pulled over though at 330 AM for going 10 over and let go after telling him where I was going....turned out to be 11 Hrs total driving..

And to answer your question... the roof and mirrors are painted... If you can't afford it, don't try it.. This isn't a matter of rep vs. BBS LMs... this is a matter of just plain "pose"ing..

Funny as you state, pure euro is lease... But a sick ride.. I was sort of expecting an insight from him though in the fact that he is painted... your Ibis looks sick with those 20's, but at this point.. If I am looking at 350 to paint vs 50 for the vinyl.. well, Im sure i could find something else to invest into.. Need some real feedback first from ppl whom have vinyl to see the quality aspect is...

just found a video, and it is possible to cover your mirror housings in black vinyl.. you just have to be careful with getting bubbles. the video is on www.decalfx.com ..

My best friend has a company that does this in the D.C. area and he is willing to ship the vinyl to you. He prints the color on white vinyl and can color-match it based on paint code. He is willing to ship kits for this with pre-cut pieces. He even puts a laminate over it so it is high-gloss and looks like paint. And its guaranteed. Regular vinyl will look like vinyl. This looks like paint.

It will not be exactly cut. The install will require some trimming and you will have to cut out the sunroof. It is much more difficult if you have to try and match up the cutout, so its going to take some technical know-how.

As for the antenna, I would imagine that it would cut out and a separate piece fitted tot he antenna. This is a guess though. My buddy will have better answers.
