Just installed the Apikol rear diff mount yesterday. My on-off throttle was rather jerky prior to installation, and shifting didn't exactly feel extremely solid. I had every mount upgraded - 034 Motor mounts, RS4 Tranny, PureMS snub mount, even the rear-rear diff bushings from PureMS. The rear differential mount was the last weak link, and all the other strong mounts really made it stand out.
After installation, it was immediately noticeably how much more 'together' the car felt. Shifting is definitely much smoother and of a consistent feel. Part-throttle cruising also feel much more solid -- no more on-off throttle jerkiness I had previously become accustomed to.
I was worried about the increased vibration issues I had read about. I'm happy to say there is almost zero noticeable increase in vibration. The only reason I say almost is because when I make U-turns there is a bit of increased vibration - but it is barely noticeable and since i don't make U-Turns all day it really doesn't bother me at all. Under regular driving - hard acceleration, normal acceleration, low speed cruising and high speed cruising the only difference in feel is a much more solid, connected car.
So.. thumbs up to Brian at Avalon for good, quick service.. I'm extremely happy with the Apikol mount. Besides the K04's it's the next best 'make the car feel better' mod I've done. I may add mine was pretty shot when I took it out. The rubber was so soft i could almost bend it over to make metal touched metal with my bare hands. It was definitely needed and an excellent solution.
