VMR v708 onyx black or gunmetal on DG?

what do you guys think. im stuck btwn onyx black and gunmetal. im a little concerned about flaking but you never see anyone with these wheels, at least in jersey. thoughts? much appreciated

Is your car blacked out or does it have the chrome?

i have chrome. but im trying to get the black trim since the chrome on my car is started to oxidize. there are white spots on the chrome, have you ever heard of that happening? on top of that it looks like the clear coat finish on my dg is coming off on a brand new car. not a good weekend.

unless you wanna spend a shit ton of money you wont be able to get the black trim. you can overlay the aluminum with vinyl but that's about it. either way go with gunmetal, it looks better on the car

The trim can be painted by a pro. I had it done. And I have seen some one else on here.

go to walmart buy chrome polish ( thats the exact name) for 1.95 and it will take the it right out and make it look new....I done this on my plate covers after a buffalo winter works great !

i just ordered a set of gunmetal. thanks for everyones input, really appreciate it. i was thinking about going with Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport or Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tires. any suggestions?

Black onyx look awesome because no one has them and they are deff not to bling bling. the only problem is the flaking, which is a nightmare

We had a handful of customers previous to our new and improved Onyx finish. We looked into it right away and ever since the occurrence of the flaking we have improved how the finish was applied and have not had a problem with the updated finish. Some tips for cleaning our wheels is that we recommend only using soap and water to clean the wheels and some occasional wheel wax for the shine. Some customers do use wheel cleaners that say non abrasive but are actually acidic based and are harmful to the wheels finish over time. We do not recommend using any wheel cleaners.

when did you guys improve the onyx finish?I got mine in Febuary, never used any wheel cleaners and all 4 are flaking pretty bad

I am very happy with VMR, even though they had a problem with the wheels they are currently hard at work to solve my problem and make me a happy customer again. I am very happy with the level of service and props to Chloe for the customer service. I should know by monday if they are going to help me out, which i believe they will once they see the pictures. I stand by the VMR product and customer service. Keep up the good work, and cant wait to hear from Chloe. VMR for life, and since it seems they have fixed the problem with the black onyx def purchase those wheels

I got mine august 07 and have never used anything other than soap and water. Give VMR a call, they will help you out for sure. I never thought they were going to be so helpful when I called, but they were awesome and should have an answer in a week.

yea, i thought they would have blown me off to be honest with you and say it was my fault, but they were understanding. I am hoping to get another set of those or possibly the VB2's in hyper black, but not sure how they will look

the problem with me is besides the flaking I got curb marks on them too. I wonder if they're gonna be like "they are too damaged to give you new ones" know what I'm sayin?

ya i hear ya. I think a rational person would look at them and can tell where there is legitimate flaking and curb rash. I mean mine are flaking on the middle of the spoked and on the inside where it is impossible to get curb rash. If you also have flaking there and then some curb rash, clearly they should be able to separate the two and make a decision based off of that
