Another VAG-COM issue

Now i installed Vista fresh install and it's all good so i dump my cheapo cable on and run vag com and to my surprise it says interface found like it should and its all good but if go to any controller or try to scan it says controller not found, after like a million tries!!!!any ideas????

Make sure you are using the correct version (I had to use 409). Also, when you run Vag-Com, right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator".

And it's still not working? Are you making sure it's plugged in securely and the key is turned on before you start the program? Once I downloaded that version and ran it as admin, it worked fine. If you're using a USB cable, make sure are using the correct input jack. I have a Dell laptop with 5 USB inputs, and only one of them works with the Vag-Com, it's listed as port com 4.

Same here it took me awile to figure out which USB port to use (for me it was the third out four USB ports)

Make sure the ignition key is in the ON position also.

^^of course man! so here's the deal i've never gotten this VAG to work regardless of what OS i've used this is the closest i've gotten! i don't understand why it wont just read the modules!
