Something doesn't seem right with my ride height:

Seems like my front is sitting higher than the back. I've had the car for a few weeks, and didn't think about it today (I had a 40lb box in the back for a while, just all my IT tools, laptop, media, etc that I keep in a plastic box).

Well, pulled the box out today, and still noticed the height. It was kinda dumb to think that it would change much, as 40lbs isn't anything to ride height when thinking about the spring rates.

So maybe this car has aftermarket suspension? Or are these cars prone to coil-droop/sag over time?

I'll go get measurements on level ground of the fender to tire and fender to ground measurements. Maybe its just in my head.

26.25" front and 25.75 rear. All the other cars I've owned raked the opposite direction.

seems normal to me thou....almost all german cars are like that. Heck....stock bimmers look slammed in the back sometimes while the front would have a small gap.

My B6S4's ground to fender measurements were 26.375" front, 26.0" rear with stock suspension.

S4 is raked rear lower than front due to AWD setup. totally normal and same on all the B6/B7 stock

Re: Something doesn't seem right with my ride height:

hmm, I might consider a suspension kit for this car once warrantee is up (July, haha). However, are there any downsides to be considered when dealing with the quattro system if I were to look into evening the ride height?

I might as well leave it alone haha, I already have one car to mod. At least I got under this car to check it out, I had been meaning to check the RSB, suspension and the exhaust a bit better. Everything looks stock sans the milltek on my car.

Re: Something doesn't seem right with my ride height:

some people maintain the backwards rake due to that being the stock up, if they are lowering a fair amount. Others, for example lowering springs, lower the front more than the rear so as to even it out.

The only downside I can think of with lowering the front to be even is putting more weight on the front end of what is already a poor weight distribution.

sounds like you need to get a set of coilovers immediately. Just do it if you can swing it. I would look to stasis for this mod.

Re: Something doesn't seem right with my ride height:

Is there loss of ride quality with the stasis or koni or bilstein kits for these cars? I mean more NVH, as I really love the quiet ride it has now.

For example, my mustang is a NVH queen. I went from 430lb/in front springs to 850lb/in, stock dampers to bilsteings, rear 210lb/in to 470-530(progressive)lb/in. The ride in that thing will remove teeth, but its not meant to be anything other than what it is. (then again, the real source of nvh on that car are likely all the rod ends and delrin bushings)

I just don't want to kill the firm but smooth ride by changing it all up. Thanks for the opinions guys, these cars are still very new to me.
