    EFK vs stock fan.

im on my second bad clutch fan, ate a bearing and now its noisy at idle.

that lasted maybe 30,000 miles or less. If i switch to an EFK kit (thinking VAST) are they any cheaper/longer lasting?

Keeping things cool isnt a problem. Just wondering about longevity and long term cost.

    Whats been the general experience?

Ask AudiSportB5S4 he has it and he can only talk about how good it is.

How do you know its on its way out? What are some symptoms/signs?

haha yeah, i mean its good, i guess! im not sitting in my engine bay recording temps but when its on, you hear it i'll tell you that. it only goes on in short periods of time usually so it must do the job pretty quickly. at most it will stay on for like 2-3 mins. it will also come on when you have the AC on, if you wire it that way to the TSTAT. some people wire it so that you can control it from the fog light switch or whatever you want, but i chose the automatic one so i dont ever just forget to ya know.

I did the clutch fan delete and am not running any EFK. My temps are fine with no overheating whatsoever. Good old Canada

We get those temps here too. I was at the track the other night where it was 28degC all night throughout all my runs, and I never went over normal running temperature (90deg coolant and 100deg oil).
