    Stupid Newbee Question-Where is the ECU

    I just got an A4 two weeks ago and an A6 6 weeks ago. I plan on chipping both. Where is the ECU located on both? I tried searching but ECU is too common.

    APR Will tell you. That will link you to the support page which has a pdf for ECU removal.

    Its in the engine bay, by the battery theres a box with a umbrella on it... its inside that box.

    Yeah basically in the upper right hand corner of the engine bay and its held down by 3 or 4 bolts iirc...

    5 bolts, the one hidden at the back is a pain, and was never put back in once it was removed.
