The hinges of my glove box just broke last night for a 2003 A4. Does anybody know the price for new hinges or do I have to buy a whole new glove box? Someone please give me answers.

    Re: glove box

just call up your local dealer parts department and ask them if the pieces can be bought separately or if you have to buy it as a whole. That's the sure fire way to know. Lots of items you have to buy the whole unit. Been there too many times...

    Re: glove box

I'm fairly sure you have to buy the entire glove box. My hinge is cracked (but not the whole way through) so I disconnected the damper (its too strong and overloads the hinges, hence they break) to prevent further damage. I'm eventually going to plastic weld the cracks and tweak the damper so its not as strong.

    Re: glove box

Are you talking about the pieces attached to the door? Or the pins themselves that it hinges on? I have a spare black glovebox door in excellent condition, and the pins are replaceable and can be ordered from the dealership.

We just had our early '05 (B6) get this fixed under warranty. The tech told us that you don't need a whole new glove box and that Audi has a "repair kit" for this.

We ended up with a new door on the glove box, so I don't know any more about the repair kit, just that it was mentioned.

Only one of my hinges broke on mine and I was quoated 900 for the whole box. Mine remains locked shut because that is rediculous!

    Re: glove box

I have had mine out, and the Audi dealer service manuals even tell how to remove and replace the hinge pins and just replace the door. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper than replacing the whole thing.

    Re: glove box

You guys need to search the forum, I've posted the part number and price before. Its just the door, around 200 bucks and whoever told you its 800 was a hose bag!

It's an ugly win but I'll take it.
