Brake pad recommendations for Audi B7 RS4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm starting to find that it takes quite a bit of travel to get the brakes to start biting and have been contemplating switching over to Motul RB600 with stainless steel braided brake lines (Stoptech? any other brands?) and getting better brake pads.

From what I've been hearing, the OEM RS4 pads are made by Pagid, but I have not been able to find any information about their temp range and coefficient of friction

My RS4 will not be seeing any track duty, and used mostly for spirited street driving.

What are your recommendations for a good street pad that doesn't dust as much as the stock ones but bite better? Ferodo DS2500? Performance Friction? If PF, which one - PFC01, PF97, PF11? What about Centric?

Does anyone have any recommendations of what is better over the OEM pads? Something with better bite, thermal stability and less dusting.

either that or the mods moved it :)

Is DS2500 better than the stock pads? was told that our stock B7 RS4 pads are made by Pagid. Are they the equivalent of Pagid Blue, or what?

I did Carbotech Bobcat pads on my rears, in my S4 and am about to order them for the fronts (BBK) too. I'm not sure about RS4 fitments, but as far as a pad reccomendation, I really like them. Virtually no dust, Good bite and no noise.

    ^^Carbotech^^

Ask for Mike Jr. Outstanding products and excellent customer service. They will provide you the perfect applicatiopn for a direct OEM fit (shims/springs/clips etc). I've got the Bobcats on my S4 and they are very low dust with excellent bite.

    Have a good one...Steve

Let me know what you guys find out. I would like to eventually replace my stock RS4 pads with something that doesn't produce as much dust as a leisure drive through the Sahara.

Thanks. I have a buddy who used Carbotech pads on his R32 for autocross and he has sung praises of them. I was eyeing the XP8 / XP10s and was wondering if they would be too aggressive for street duty.

I've been trying to get information on the thermal range and coefficient of friction for Carbotech pads, but not have found any references online. If you know where I should be looking, do let me know :)

How do the Centric pads compare in terms of performance against the OEM ones?

It appears that DS2500 and Porterfield R4s are 'better' pads compared to OEM, but has anyone here tried OEM on track vs DS2500s on track?

ECS Tuning also has Pagid in stock, but they appear to be significantly more expensive than stock pads, see http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...bcategory=Pads

    Any Pagid users here?

Who sells Pagid pads for B7 RS4s? ECS Tuning has the grey ones, not sure how good they are.

Centric is more for the street. it would be comparable or might be slightly better than stock. it will be less brake dust for sure.

i normally would prefer to switch pads when tracking. this is the reason why i went with the StopTeck BBK. they BHP used to carry pads called XPS which was both for street and track. sadly, BHP has discontinued this wonderful pad.

i would contact Zeckhausen and ask the experts there. they are very knowledgeable with everything brake related.
