    Front-end clunk and associated maintenance

So I'm fairly sure my tie rod ends need replacement. I have a squeak in my steering which I'm fairly sure is caused by the TRE's.

    I also have a clunk which I haven't located.

I'm considering replacing all control arms, TRE's, etc with one of the kits on eBay...or are there better options? Which is the eBay kit to go for? (01.5 if that makes a diff...)

Is this necessary or complete overkill? The price for the parts is around $530. The car currently has 57k. What parts would be a good idea to replace along with the TRE's, as preventative maintenance and also to hopefully fix my clunk.

I haven't priced out a complete kit in a while, but that looks like a good price..if they are quality parts..You can easily check suspension components for play if you get the car up on all fours and give it a good shake down. More details on the squeak?

Hamburg Technic parts are garbage. 3rd rate manufacturer copying parts in India and China. Not a true OE by any stretch of the imagination. They don't provide a single part to Audi/VW.

I personally refuse to carry them, and won't even recommend them. Sure they're cheap and people love cheap parts, but they don't last worth a damn.

I've used FCP Groton and their whole control arm kit is only $288 shipped. I think I paid like $100 for just the upper control arms on my car from these guys... fitment was perfect when i replaced mine and they have a really really great customer service group. I've also gotten an oil pan and they had it to me overnight for really cheap... again, the fitment was perfect. Here's the link:
