so at the track you were running the correct stuff (440 injectors and revo software)? What fuel was used, what settings for boost and timing? Do you have a boost gauge, what was the boost holding at?

well if you have the revo tune you can use the SPS 3 controller to change the boost settings but you will want to have a boost controller to fine tune it

It certainly would not hurt. However at this point I would reccomend you put any and all money going towards your car into a intercooler.

    Re: help b6 drag racer

so you are running 20psi and havent adjusted anything since you had the computer flashed? So most likely you are on low timing. You need to get a SPS 3 or Select Plus controller and set the timing higher to 4 or 5 to be sure that it isnt at 1. I think I remember reading that you have a stock intercooler though. That is a huge problem and would kill your power if that is true and if that is indeed true then you cant run higher timing until you get a front mount and would definitely cause the results you have. On 93 octane and 20psi with timing at 5 you should run around 97mph in the 1/4 with temps in the 70s and at 22-23psi you would be at 99-101mph if everything is running right and your car is healthy.

ok just read you indeed dont have a front mount which is a big no no. You should find out what setting (1-9) they put your computer at as far as boost and timing if you dont know

with our without? If that wasn't a typo and it's set for a front mount then it is at timing 4 or 5 and you are going to be suffering huge correction factors and im surprised you arent getting detonation or pinging. Turn your radio off and run through 1 or 2 gears wide open and listen to hear if you hear something funny (pinging) like a tin can being shook with some bolts in it. If so that is very bad. Your intake air temps have to be rediculous with a stock intercooler running 20psi and advanced timing. It is very hot there right now too correct? I talked to my Aunt that lives in Mass. a few days ago and she said it was like 92 deg in the day. You need to go get your boost and timing turned down before you do major damage.

Even a ER sport would be better then the stock SMIC. I know the perfect place to get it if he needs one.

Time to start going on a track diet. Did ya run with 19" rims? Drop the car weight and you drop your ET's.

I have a buddy who has a K04 and runs high 14's. You seem right on par :)

On par? A GTRS car should run low-mid 13's even on a pump gas tune and a chipped K03 B6 can run low 15's without a problem. Even his trap speeds are way too low for a GTRS.

BTW there are a few B5 1.8t that have ran low 14's at 95-97 mph on a K03.

Oops...haha guess I didn't take into consideration elevation difference. I was just going off of a buddy's numbers (as he told me). He was only able to pump out high 14's with his K04. I didn't even think of looking where the OP was from.

I know domestic cars well...not so much foreign (albeit German cars)...so I'm-a-learnin' in that sense. Thanks for the clarification :)

Something is not right if your 60ft is 1.9. I ran 1.9 60 ft with my K04 at 6000ft in 100deg weather with a strong head wind and was able to pull a 14.9. I expect your car to be in the mid to high 13's on 91oct.

The problem is he is running too much boost on a GTRS with a stock SMIC. Car gets out of the hole well using the tq but after that the power/flow just isn't there. Cant even use his MPH either since the ET is so much slower then it really should be. Plus I bet the heat wave right now didn't help.

I would have blown my engine up at this elevation if I ran the stock smic with a gtrs or any BT kit for that matter. 70-80deg C IAT's with the gtrs even on a small FMIC (still much much better than stock though)!!! Now I have the ER comp FMIC and my IAT's with a T25 2871R and 2008cc motor never get over 40deg C.

with our without? You need to go get your boost and timing turned down before you do major damage.
it's hot up here. i don't hear any pinging. going to fab up a ebay intercooler for now and when i get some money grabing the er comp fmic
