Help Fast Please! Trunk Won't Close!

So I was at home depot and the power washer I was buying wouldn't fit. So they flipped the latch on the trunk lid and tied a piece of string to it to keep the trunk lid down. So I got home and now my trunk lid won't close! Idk what happened. I can switch it manualy to unlocked and locked but when I slam the trunk lid it won't latch. I tried turning the key in the keyhole and it did nothing but if I put it in the locked position and press the keyhole latch button thing it will unlock it. Anyone know how to fix this?

I would start taking the latch apart so you can realign it back. I'm not sure what you tied the string to? But that sure sound like what happened.

If you can't fix it. I'd take it to the body shop to ask them if they can fix it for ya.

poke a screw driver in it and it'll swing back out. That should help.
