The cocky Bimmer fanboy appears once again. It's still an over-modified car with a shitty cramped interior(which you can't afford anyway). So what's the big deal?

should be interesting when they finally get a turbo upgrade kit for the N54 engine in the bimmer though.

Very nice. I am hearing some chatter about new ECUs for BMW, that can detect "enhancements". Nice little car though.

and yet again, a thread appears for which i could not possibly care less, just enough to make this post.

i will admit, i do feel a bit bad saying this seeing that you are the 17th az member and you rarely post...but still it's a bimmer vs a lambo, just no point.

What you just described is a B5 S4, lol. You don't think a stage 3 is over-modified? That 135i was much more conservatively modded than those.

By the way, what is the view like in your parent's basement and what do they charge you for letting you drive the old man's A8?

I love how much you talk about money, must mean you have a lot, lol.

over modified? go over to the B5 S4's all those stg 3's are over mod'd. This little bimmer didn't have that much done to it and it pulled on a lambo. And im sorry but why do you hate BMW's so much? this car is little as fuck, no shit its int. is going to be small as well, sit in a mini they're cramped too, and if the Audi metro gets released that should be your kryptonite of interiors .

Yeah well Audi did it over 8 years ago and it still has more room, a better looking interior/exterior body, and Quattro. Also B5 S4s weren't overpriced.

You're the one living out of your parent's basement you fucking loser, you're on here almost 24/7 and you don't even own an Audi. Get a life. Scrape together your pocket change from working at the grocery store, your beater is gonna be in the shops soon. And don't talk down to me about money, the cash I paid on the A4 alone is worth more than your 2 pos cars.

I don't hate BMWs, I was really interested in this until I found out the asking price was. Right now my 2 favorites left are the 7 series and of course the 335. I'm confident that the new S4 will be enough to sway me as did the A8 though. I'll be the first to admit though Audi pulled a couple chinsy moves with the 07 A4 in particular which is causing me to consider alternatives.

Your right, I was a member here in 2002, even wrote an article or two that Anthony used on the front page. And in that time, I can honestly say somethings never change. Now, I understand that you probably never got to read the article I co-wrote with Cdub regarding a preproduction A8L we drove. But even if you had, it probably wouldn't change the fact that there is always some new member (in this case, you) who thinks that he or she is the end all when it comes to cars. And in your own right, among your own friends, you probably are.

However, those that truly do care about cars tend to bash less, and praise more. Maybe I sound preachy, but take it from someone who has driven everything from a rental car, to a shifter kart to an r8, on the track, you will enjoy cars a lot more after you drive a lot of them and learn what makes them unique. So instead of just saying, I don't care about this because it isn't an audi _insert favorite model here_ I would suggest that you check out what other cars have to offer. I know the more I learn about cars, the more I appreciate what each one has to offer, rather than focusing on what each car is lacking.

Enjoy your car, and enjoy the forums. Oh yeah, and drive an R8 the first second you get a chance.

Variety is, as they say, the spice of life. To the OP, you are correct. If you really dig cars, you generally can at the very least appreciate something so well sorted like the 1 in your video. Or apparently you get stuck acting like a 15 yr old for the rest of your adult life (shakes head).

Sweet jeebus, can't a person post something interesting about two pretty impressive cars (one owned by Audi) in the "General Car Talk" forum without incurring the wrath of someone? Damn, it's not like Dustin posted this in the B6 A4 forum True enough, if you do some searching you'll see that we've both posted detailed reviews and first drive impressions of several Audis as well as organized tech days/demonstrations, group drives and other events. Bottom line, I think that most folks who post in a forum such as this one, do so out of a genuine interest and passion for cars in general. Everybody just step back and take a breath. Nobody's a "Bimmer fanboy" or hater for that matter, we just all like to keep up on new rides on the road.

Ive come to Realize i think Audi drivers are just as stuck up as Bmw drivers. All audi can praise about is the interior(its only come back) and Bmw can praise about its speed(only come back).

I have to disagree with that. According to uninformed general opinions ,Audi can't hang with BMW in power/handling/driving experience/magazine tests when comparing similar models. BMW is thought of as more of a driver's car and Audi seemingly is geared toward quattro cars and comfort/luxury, and when these Audi v. BMW arguments come up, they are usually based on who is faster 0-60 and 1/4 times etc.

Audi, for the most part aren't trying to build the fastest/ best handling/ best lap times kind of car( not talking about RS models or M cars). So Audi guys will point to their supposed strong suits (quattro/interior quality/ ergonomics/ fit and finish etc) and BMW to their supposed strong suits( better driver's car/power/handling etc) .

BMW drivers in my personal experiences (especially e46 m3 drivers, of whom I think of as modern day IROC Camaro drivers) are inconsiderate, contentious, self centered, egotistical, self righteous, entitled, spoiled, narrow minded, airheaded, guido-centric, dude-bro/trophy slut, sheep-like followers.

While Audi drivers are considerate, generous, intelligent, articulate leaders of men.

the 135 is overpriced? it is a twin turbo i-6 with 300hp (or more) and very tunable starting at 36k. Where as the 3.2 Audi TT has 250hp and starts at over 40k. The TT is better looking inside and out but still you can't say anything about the 135. It's priced according to its class.

yeah but good luck finding a 135i for 36k. I've been looking at the prices for these things and the cheapest I've seen is around 40k. This is the kind of car that dealers overcharge for. If you are going to pay 40-42k or so for an equipped 135i, why not get a 335i coupe for a little more?

I think the 335i is a sharp looking car, the 135i looks too small, it certainly doesn't look like a 40k car at all. It looks like a high school kid's car. I'm not saying it isn't a very fast car for the price or not. I'm saying I don't like the looks one bit.

    Re: 135 V. Lambo

    LOL@ this thread
I used to (hate)Bmw and just going to a Bmw dealer and being ignored by salesman because I bought my first Audi at 20 (By my own) just feeded my anger even more. Btw My Audi was totaled and I was set on a B7 S4. The only Bmw models that Ive really liked in the past years were the M models. I test drove the 335 found it pretty tame but looked at some forum and discovered that it would be a cheaper alternative to the S4. I hated the fact that Bmw dealers were knocking down on Audi and saying: Well its No Bmw(because of that+lame interiors) I almost bought the S4 that my dealer had or getting a TT. Honestly I can say that Audi in Canada are overpriced. For the price of a fully loaded A4 I can get a 335XI with sport pack. My 135 has less equipement than my Audi but who cares about rear heated seats(4 seater, small back seat),who cares about the GPS,who cares about the nightvision mirror thing. I bought the 135I to enjoy it the drive. The E46 M3 was my initial choice but having less warranty didnt interest me at all. I will still buy an other Audi next year has a daily to replace the Jetta and keep the 135I. Did I forgot to say that my 135 is faster than my old BT A4 and soon to receive more mods my only mod is an AA Reprogram(Piggy). I dont give a crap about people saying it looks cheap(Im happy for the stealth factor high 12's 1/4), hell the A4 was the entry level Audi when I had mine. I cant wait to track the car.

I agree after reading this thread. It's pretty sad...

Regardless that is a sweet vid, and the 135i is very impressive. However, like others stated I'd take a 335i due to the small price difference and I wouldn't buy software from Vishnu.

The race came down to the better driver... just ask Dustin (aka the driver, aka the OP).
