lower engine cover missing need one...help

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    i recently bought a 2001.5 S4 w/ full RS4 body conversion,

my issue is that the lower engine cover/valance, not sure what you call it but the thing you take off BEFORE an oil change

my car does not have it and I am wondering if it is because the RS4 bumper sticks out more and I need a euro one or if the regular S4 one will work

this is causing the bumper to sway in the wind if you will when I drive...

any advice would be greatly appreciated

The belly pan? No prob. I've never had one. Makes oil changes easy.

its better not to have one sometimes just to see if your leaking. i took mine off and noticed some power steering on the ground . you can buy it at the dealer if u want one, im sure it wound fit that rs4 bumper with a little modification

its fits with no modification. If your bumper is swaying because of it then i woudl say put it but in, you dont want it to crack. Some people over AW did and invegtigation regarding the belly pan. They said that its there because it helps keep engine temps down by direction the airflow some how. The test came backl pretty good, With the bely pan in engine temps where lower than with it off. Not sure how it happened bu thats what they got. ANyways, I still dont think its anything to worry about.

It is nice to have in the winter, keep some of the salt out of the engine bay depending on where you are from.

well for me that is not a worry, I live in San Diego, I guess I think it would cut down on some road noise too as well as complete the anal retentiveness within myself...

Re: lower engine cover missing need one...help

The regular A4 / S4 engine undercover does NOT fit the RS4 bumper at all.

The flexing is not due to the missing cover - make sure the bumper lower support struts were fitted during the conversion.

The lower sides will flex / move otherwise.
