Re: how do to remove this tray on the dash...

In order to remove mine so as to put the Defi Unit, i removed the RCD below it as well...Otherwise I couldnt pull it out...
I dont know if there is another way, but that is the way I worked it out...

Re: how do to remove this tray on the dash...

In my car, underneath the dashes, is the RCD unit, which comes out in one piece and then you can pull the dash from underneath...

Let me show you some pics...

Hope I helped a lil bit...

Re: how do to remove this tray on the dash...

    1) You have to remove the black trim piece above the radio

    2) You have to pull the radio out a bit to clear the bottom of the tray

    3) Using a small Robertson screwdriver you push down on two tabs on either side of the tray that lock in in place and then pull out the tray

Re: how do to remove this tray on the dash...

You don't need to pull out the radio for the extra clearance but it does help with removing the tray.

Otherwise the bottom of the tray will touch the top trim of the radio and if you pull it out the wrong way it will screw up the outer edge of your radio trim unless you get a bit creative.

I was unable to remove my cupholder without pulling out the radio 2"

Re: how do to remove this tray on the dash...

Look at the pics of my cupholder in this thread and you see the tabs I am talkng about: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=195375

When you look at the bottom of the tray you will see the long center piece which prevents the tray from pulling out smoothly.
