Help. Window regulator going crazy!?!? please...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So, I tried rolling down my driver side window and it made this creek noise, then when I tried rolling it back up, it struggled and kept on coming back down. I eventually managed to roll it all the way up.

I'm going to take a wild guess that it is the window regulator clip. I've had this happen to my Mk4 Jetta before. How hard is it to fix? Could I do this myself? Where can I find the part?

    Thanks in advance!

I think I have the same issue with my rear passenger side window. It'll go down, but won't go up and I have to spend a good 5 minutes to get it up properly so it won't slide back down when going on the road.

    Here's the fix:

You have a bad window reg. they dont have the clips like the old cars. It's the complete cable system. The plastic wheel that holds the cable breaks, and the cable comes loose. parts bout 150 depending on Dealer.... I can get part number and help with write up repait if needed...

I'm having my mechanic order a new regulator for 150 bucks from the dealer. oh well. Any recall on these regulators?
