Hi, I'm looking to do a oil change and i dunno which filter to use. I drive a 1999 A4 2.8 Quattro. I searched online and there'r two types, a short stubby one and a thin taller one. I have previously used FRAM PH2815 filter. Can someone help me?

    Thanks

It helps to post links. I tried searching for a Canadian mailorder to help you out but couldn't find one.. ideally you want a Mann or Mahle vw/audi approved filter imo.

Just buy them from ECS. Thats what I did. That have a great oil change package: oil (obviously), large filter, and magnetic oil plug/washer.

He's from Canada apparently. ECS already rips people off on shipping, I can't imagine what they'd do to a Canadian.

    Re: Oil Filter Help

You don't know of any Canadian mailorders with this filter?

I usually order from www.germanautoparts.com they charge actual shipping costs, which is for me, always cheaper than anywhere... unless I'm spending over $50, then I go with www.autohausaz.com for their free shipping on orders over $50. If I were in Canada, I would go with germanautoparts.com assuming there aren't any places in Canada that sell these filters, thats kind of hard to believe.

    Re: Oil Filter Help

no real places like ECS in Canada. RPI but they are expensive and dont sell oem. The dealer charged $15 a filter. I got 10 from ECS when I ordered other stuff.

    Re: Oil Filter Help

Here ya go. They ship nationally, but they said to email them for quote. In the US, shipping is free with orders above $50, so I would not expect it to be expensive (conjecture).
