Not entirely, sold the cars years ago. The coolant leak wasnt due to the turbo, it was due to the rear coolant flange. So we fixed that and took care of the coolant leak/loss issue.
Oil was still being lost but car was sold before we investigated it further.
However I will say this, My father has a 1991 350SDL Mercedes, and that turbo was leaking oil (its an oil cooled turbo only, no coolant lines going to it). I removed it and we entirely took that turbo apart and rebuilt it at home with nothing but hand tools. Rebuild kit was only $75 for that turbo. That is basically a T03 turbo so basically the same thing. Comes with new journal bearings, seals, snap rings, bolts, orings, etc. Took me 30mins to dismantle the turbo, then only took about 60mins to put it back together. We got it back in the car and its running great, no oil leaking into the intake manifold side anymore.
So all in all once you have the turbo off on any of these cars, its fairly easy to rebuild. So long as its a journal bearning based one, if its a ball bearing one, you wont be able to do it at home without some real speciality tools.
