    A4 2.8 B5 compatible with S4 engine?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i have an audi a4 2.8 b5 and was planning on a summer project of swapping it for a b5 s4 engine and wondering if anyone on here has done this or knows exactly what is needed for this type of project. Ive heard different things that you can use the stock 2.8 tranny, mounts, and gears and some you can't. I'd like to keep my stock tranny and gears. If anyone could give me any help it would be greatly appreciated you can pm me if you want.

i called SSPtuning from Long Island and they said that it pretty much just bolts in place but they charge $1900 for labor, is there any place known in New York or surrounding states that would have a much cheaper price?

For the amount of work needed that is pretty cheap.

I guarantee you won't find cheaper.
I have seen this performed twice now, it is a bit of work.

    Re: A4 2.8 B5 compatible with S4 engine?

What are your power goals for changing over to a 2.7t setup? And are you planning on swapping over to an s4 harness/ECU or using a standalone. If your power goals are not too high and your ok w/ using a standalone, you could just bolt up a stock turbo kit from a 2.7t (manifolds/turbos/dp/intake system) and run it that way....exhaust manifolds should bolt right up and you could flip 2.8 intake manifold and use that.

I'll do it for less, but you'd have to bring it to MI.

So you're telling me that if you devoted one week of your time, provided you had all the parts, it would take 38hrs? I take it that's flat rate.
I'll take the 38 hrs as a challenge. From everything I've read about the swaps it really isn't that bad.
