My ride currently...but looking for new wheels...suggestions?

It's time to part with the 19 x 8.5 Axis Milanos which I've had a little over a year.

Here's how the car looks with them right now:









Needs a new look for the wheels...suggestions?

And I'm looking at about $2k max for rims and tires...can't afford HREs yet...

Yes, it had stock sport suspension. But now...

She currently has Koni FSD's, stock Audi OEM sport springs, and Hotchkis F & R sways.

Can't lower it due to Koni not recommending anything but the stock spring height for the FSD's. The look suffers somewhat, but the ride is definitely worth it. Comfortable, but responsive enough to feel sporty.

i love those rims, but only in staggered set-up, i have a buddy here in norcal with them in staggered, man, the car looks sick, just get 2 19x9.5 and put it on the back :) These are one of the wheels i would still put on my car anytime :) good luck with sale

Already have people wanting to buy right now...actually just waiting on one guy to send paypal.

I just didn't want to go through the hassle of repairing and refinishing these wheels...they were great looking for sure, but cost to get them back to "new" status was more than I wanted to spend, especially if I can buy brand new ones for just a little more money.

I'm thinking about the new V710's coming out from VMR that look like the HRE's...now those look nice, if i can get in a hyperblack, matte black, or gunmetal...or yeah, even silver again.

I like the wheels and I think anyone will agree that the 4.2 fenders are worth their weight in gold but.......

Something looks odd for some reason. Maybe it's the tire-to-fender gap combined with the 4.2's bif fender flares.

So it must be the ride height setting on the FSDs. Do you know why Koni requires stock ride height? My guess is that it will create excessive negative camber on all four corners and wear the inner edges of the tires quickly.

Brice: Didn't you say that you had the Koni FSD setup and it was lower with them?

I do but i also have the Eibach springs to get the "lowering" part... The FSDs alone can be even higher than stock on some cars. However, the FSDs were not tested and approved with ANY lowering springs on the 4.2 A6, only the 2,7T

There is an ajustable ring on the FSDs though he may be able to play with to lower it a bit if he wants to take them out.
The gap is what makes it look wierd, this car with these wheels could look bad a$$ with a lower stance and maybe spacers to put the wheels at the edge. I think ET35 works well on 2.7t A6s but is not aggressive enough on the 4.2 wide fenders... just my 2 cents

Yes. I agree 100%. The offset definitely make the wheels look lost in those fenders.

YES, i did not catch that it was 4.2, lol, min 9.5 all around imo, those fenders needs to be overfilled :D, i would say 11 wide all around for that 'old school' euro look :)

If lowered, it would look nice, but yes, I agree need to push the wheels out further.

I'm not so sure about using 9.5 width rims, scared of rubbing when I hit those nice potholes here in Ohio.

Guess I'll have to put the stockers back on, and wait for the right wheel to come along.

On a side note, what do you guys think of these rims?

I've always thought these might look nice on our cars.

2.7t and other narrow body c5 running 9.5 with no problems, you have much wider fenders 9.5 is what you need, FYI rs6 rims are 18x9 and no rubbing ;) i with 2.7t had wide fenders....man, i can't even imagine how wide would i go :D

those mrrs would look hot if ur car was a bit more lower and u ran spacers to make them flush with the fender. they have the same design as rs6s with the curved face. i think they would look sick!

Update:

Rims are tentatively sold upon clearance of payment.

MRR HR-2's 19x9.5 et 35...5 mm spacers all around...HYPERBLACK...pulled the trigger...matched with Falken FK452 245/35/19...all around.

Got the rims brand new...mounted and balanced with new tires for a little under $1400 shipped to me...not bad, I thought. Any of you guys looking for a similar deal, pm me and I can try to ask for additional discounted packages (though not my setup please...lol).

As for lowering, I'll ask the shop if they can lower the shocks using the ring adjustment, I believe there are settings (3?) that can be set....although I still doubt it would slam the car enough to be beastly.

And please remember, I'm currently working out of Cleveland...pothole and crappy roads are daily hazards. So I'm not too keen on getting too low.
