    What do I need? (Headlights)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just got some OEM S4 Headlight and was wondering what bulbs, etc. do I need to purchase?

I have some D1S bulbs/ballasts on the way but there are two other bulbs I need?

Sorry for sounding like a douche...

Re: What do I need? (Headlights)

You need the blinker bulbs which i cant remember i can look at my extra set when i get home, and you need the high beam bulbs. I think they are either h10's or h7's. Weather or not they are the same from the a4 housings I am not sure. PM me if you can't figure it out they are common bulbs and Napa carried them for me.

Secondly when i swapped my bi-xenon housings onto the car, the stock harness where to short. Luckly I had harness extension left over from my aftermarket headlights which give me another 6 inches.

Edit : i just recalled they say on the housing themselfs what the bulbs are required.

Re: What do I need? (Headlights)

Bi-xenon Ecodes - You need H7 for the highs. D1S for the lows and 5GL ballasts. You also need a H6W (city light) bulb for each housing. Also euro corner bulb sockets.

US S4 Housings don't use H6W (city light) and you need H10 for your highs. Same applies for lows (D1S and 5GL).
PM me if you need RNS-E installed in Atlanta area

So I will need H10 bulbs for the highs and my D1S bulbs and ballasts should work!

What brand/color would match my 6000K HIDs best?

Re: What do I need? (Headlights)

Can I use any part of my halogen harness to get the extra slack I need? If not, what can I do?

Come to think of it couldn't I reuse my highs from my halogen housing along with the turning blinker?

My D1S should take care of the bi-xenon part?!

Re: What do I need? (Headlights)

Sorry to jack your thread, but do the single Xenon Ecodes have the city lights? And what mods would I need to make to run them? I just picked up a set off Ebay.de and I want to make sure I have all the parts.

yes single xenon ecodes take the h6w city light. you don't need to do anything, they work automatically via the harness

Re: What do I need? (Headlights)

what the hell..... so the only way for someone to run 6000K or 8000K low beams is to have the stock halogen headlights? :(:(:(

cause im pretty sure D1S only come in 4300K and i think i've seen 5000K on some website...... but thats so damn white :(... if people want blue-er, is there no other option but run the stock halogens? :(

Re: What do I need? (Headlights)

I checked my headlights and on them it says:

    Highs: H6W
    Bi-Xenon bit: D1S
    Blinker: PY21W 3457

Now everywhere I read it says the highs are H7? WTF?!

EDIT: On the bottom of the housings it says - Halogen --> H7 EU/H10 USA

Re: What do I need? (Headlights)

No city light so H6W is out!

According to the housing my highs are H10s.

I think I'll take my H7s out of my A4 lights and see if it works

Re: What do I need? (Headlights)

I can't speak for your NA spec lights but my single xenon ecodes use the following:
    - H6W city light
    - H7 high beam
    - D1S low beam
    - 7507 (PY21W) turn signal
