ABS/Brake light on - VAG will not communicate

So....title pretty much says it. My ABS light is on Brake is blinking. I vaged it a week or so ago when it first started and there were no codes - ABS light was not on at the time but was on earlier that day. Last night I try it again with the ABS light on and it will not communicate with any of the controllers via the OBDII port. Vag is working fine but fails if I try to connect. My mechanic said that he got a code for loose connection on the cluster or something like that.

I've found a couple posts that if the ODBII communication is not working that it's the ABS controller.

Is this a 99.9% yeah its the ABS module?

Yeah its the abs module.

No shit really - like I said, I found a couple posts dealing with ABS and the issue of not being able to communicate with any controllers - I guess I was just looking for a little reinforcement before I send it out to be rebuilt and spend $200.
