I would expect a small vacuum leak. Have you pressure tested?

Re: OMG, a new missfire at idle thread! lol

dont get my started on misfiring at idle LOL. I have had it for a while now........for the most part its better ( i had to replace all coilpacks, plugs, ICMs, coolant temp sensor) all of it really. I still have it, and we think (myself and VAST) that its in the chip, so were trying something new. I have NO vacuum leaks either. its just soosoosso annoying!

Re: OMG, a new missfire at idle thread! lol

you're going to never wish you asked! Heres a link to my thread (SORRY OP, THIS CAN PROBABLY HELP US BOTH OUT) to my issues....

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=184167

all those WHILE driving issues were taken care of with 6 coilpacks, coolant temp sensor, plugs and ICMs.

then i had misfiring at idle. mike @ vast was stumped. we figured last thing it could be was the 5 bar FPR i was running at the time of 3- for 6 months.... i just did full fueling (RS4 Airbox, RS4 accordion, Bosch Green Giant Injectors etc) and went back to the ol' 4 BAR. idle was smoother but still getting misfiring at idle. enough to throw CEL. With VAG I ll get about 20 a min with blocks 014,015,016. Mike thinks that MAYBE it could be a ECU issue in the coding somewhere..... my car kinda doesnt start up as strong as it used to, can a dying fuel pump cause misfires @ idle? weird thing is just as OP states, once im moving, no more misfires. back to back runs, no misfiring, only at idle they rack up

Re: OMG, a new missfire at idle thread! lol

Ive been misfiring at idle for 40k now, do you think i can solve it? Of course not. Ive changed timing belt, spark plugs, new coolant temp sensor, swapped coils, swapped ignition control modules, raised my idle and more. Ive totally given up.

try seafoaming. I had this prob for months, then my mech filled the cylinders with WD-40 for the weekend and drained it out on monday. changed the plugs and the car ran amazing. carbon build up can really casue alot of problems.

Re: OMG, a new missfire at idle thread! lol

i have a weird idle to, barely ever misfires but it does once in a great while.. but every so often when i pull up to a stop light, and the rpms drop to idle it chokes and drops from ~700rpm to maybe ~550-600 only for a few seconds and then picks back up.. i was gonna do some coil packs, any ideas?

well ive had a sneaking suspicion that the vacuum line to the brake booster is leaking. i called audi and apparently there is a service bulletin with an updated repair with a new check valve, lines, hose clamps and connections. he told me $70 so its worth a shot.
