For an A4 2.0T Manual, what would you recommend Stasis or Milltek exhaust?

I'm looking mainly performance gains; I don’t care to much about the sound. I actually prefer something quite.

I vote Stasis it is what I have, sounds great and has decent power gains but I don't think any of them are that different as far as power gains go.

Fourth for AWE, better sound better performance better looking. If you don't want those things then I would suggest StaSis over Milltek only because I heard at one oint milltek had some fitment issues that were probably resolved long ago.

I might be mistaken but doesn't the Stasis come with a 3 in. downpipe compared to 2.5 for the AWE?

Stasis has a 3" down pipe unlike the Milltek. also it has two pipes that run to the mufflers un like the AWE.

    Stasis.

I think Milltek really shines with their V8 engine exhausts, not four cylinders.

I just installed the Stasis exhaust a few weeks ago. It's a really nice designed system and took no time getting everything lined up. It sounds great too.

Didn't you say that you thought STaSIS looked better b/c of the angled tips? Also, saying that one exhaust will give you better performance over another is kind of a stretch.

Have you seen my youtube videos of my exhaust outside and inside the car?

click on this link, then look at all the videos. It helps if you computer has a sub hooked up to it. If it doesn't you really wont hear the right note the exhaust puts out.

or even better awe quad tip exhaust that is coming out by end of month. :)

miltek does usually make quieter exhausts but I remember them not being as strong performance as AWE. I had miltek and GHL on my GTi. GHL was too loud, but more powerful and miltek was quieter.

I've had Milltek for a couple months now and I've very happy with it. I don't think its too loud or that quiet, but I dunno if running Millteks hi-flow cat added to the sound since it was all put on at once.

I'm just telling you, it's deep as deep and throaty as a 4 cyl can be. That rice sound you heard...was the turbo spooling up. In person, a STaSIS exhaust does not sound ricey at all. Not even close. Like I said before, if you don't have a sub hooked up to your computer, you don't get the full effect..and yes it may sound a little ricey because of that fact.

I'm just letting you know that in person, all I've gotten are compliments on the sound.

Well put! The STaSIS setup is awesome, look at all the other setups from the different manufactures and none of them have two pipes that run directly from the downpipe to the mufflers.

    Once again STaSIS FTMFW!!!!!

I also have the Stasis which I think sounds nice and deep. It's far from ricey in my definition but to each his own.

I have a badass sound system on my computer. I still say it sounds like rice. Everyone I've showed it too says the same (enthusiasts too BTW, not amateurs), especially if played back to back with the Milltek. IMHO a 4 cly. is NEVER going to sound like a 6 or an 8. In general they (4 cylinders) don't sound good with wide open exhaust. The Milltek has the right blend in IMO.

Your opinion is your opinion, can't sway you from that. To say ricey makes you sound like a complete idiot
Thank you very much, you're damn right my opinion is my opinion and so are the people's that agree with me and hear the same thing I do. Fuck off.

I just heard AudiWxGuy's exhaust and I have to say that has to be among the quietest after market exhaust I have ever heard. Has a civil mellow tone. It's a safe bet I will be getting the STaSIS when I get the exhaust.

Re: For an A4 2.0T Manual, what would you recommend Stasis or Milltek exhaust?

I don't know how you guys think the Stasis system sounds ricey. IMO a test pipe with stock exhaust sounds riceish.

    Wow, many replies, thanks.

Quick question, are the Stasis Exhaust tips adjustable?

In general they (4 cylinders) don't sound good with wide open exhaust. The Milltek has the right blend in IMO.

Thank you very much, you're damn right my opinion is my opinion and so are the people's that agree with me and hear the same thing I do. Fuck off.
Keep in mind that YouTube is a terrible way of evaluating any audio related product. They compress audio and video to fit all that massive amount of data on their servers which significantly deteriorates quality. So even if you have kick ass sound systems it really does not matter.
It would be best to have a high fidelity audio clip of multiple exhaust systems and play it on your home theater system with a decent subwoofer which has ability to reproduce sub 40Hz tones.

I also have Stasis Cat back and I don't think it sounds ricey at all. My mechanic also told me that it was one of the best fits he saw.

Unfortunately I have an issue with this exhaust sounding too deep and too loud at low RPMs (2500 - 3000rpms). It is either exhaust issue or system (exhaust + car) issue. Basically when accelerating on 6th gear at 2500 rpms the low hum gets so loud that it pops ears inside the car's cabin.

Stasis. Milltek's quality is not good. I had a Milltek on my B6 S4 and both Milltek cats went bad after 16 months (about 15k miles). The Milltek fitment was horrible. Also, the Milltek looks like a legally blind 3rd grader welded the thing. I will never buy another Milltek product.
