    Nex Coilovers. Where to source?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I remember Ebay had the Nex coilovers for $570 shipped, but now I can't find them?

I found them online for $700 +, which I prefer not to pay since its a hundred and some change cheaper.

    Someone shed some light!

    Thanks

nex coilover are good for the price but far from the best , i heard good things about them and also bad .so it likes a hit or miss with them they do offer warranty on it but you have to send back yours frist in order to receive the new ones

Yea. its either Blistein's + Neuspeed Race or Nex. If I can't find them for 570 shipped, i'll be going with the alternate route

Bilsteins w/ H&R's are a much better quality setup than the nex crap. Brakes, suspension & tires are things that folks shouldn't cheap out on.

^ Ok what are you basing this on? Do you have direct experience with the product? I for one do, I have them on my car currently they are the best bang for the buck out there. I've also had Bilsteins on my BMW 740il and on my VW Golf, personally they are great however expensive. If you want a decent set up for a reasonable price go NEX just saying they are crap based on the price is a pretty bad way of evaluating them.

I like the ride quality for the hight that I have, its dropped so they are no gaps. I have 18's I forgot the size but they are not low profile tires. Check my thread in the suspension section for the details....

Nope no personal experience and never will. I remember your thread of having to install honda acord bushing (or something like that) to make the nex coilover fit.

Do you have a shock dyno showing me that the dampening and the spring rates actually are matched? Until you can show me that the valving and spring rates are matched or close to matched i will assume the product is not properly balanced. The Bilstein w/ H&R sports have been proven to be a close match, Not perfect but very close. The Koni yellow's with H&R sports can be set very close.

I may not be a baller like you with your 740iL, VW Golf, audi and what ever other cars you have in your fleet. But I could care less what something costs. I am glad you are happy with your nex setup. The original poster might be very happy also with the nex setup.

In my mind if you can get a kick ass product for a great price that is a win-win for everyone.

Good luck to the original poster.

here's a link to Tommy K's suspension thread about Nex to save people from searching. Nex Thread

Re: Nex Coilovers. Where to source?

EBG 18T, I wouldn't mind going as far as getting any dampening rates if I had that type of access then sure thing. The coilovers fit however I had to do minor adjustments and since the car had a OEM upper spring bushing, and the fact that I had those prelude upper spring bushings sitting around. I saw that it fit and went from there, even though its not required. It was more of a putting good use to parts I have hanging around in the garage for more piece of mind type thing. Nah not ballin its hard out here for a pimp lol just happen to get my 740il which I sold as well as my VW for good prices when I had them. If your gonna spend under $600 then grab them however if they are going for $700+ then I would spend a little more for the others. See the above link EBG 18T put for info on them on what I did.

Re: Nex Coilovers. Where to source?

just spoke to the ebay seller. price jumped from 570 shipped to almost 800 shipped. FTL.

Should I get the blisteins + H&R Sports or spend about 200 more for coilovers. The only advantage that is important to me is that I get to make it higher in the winter.

    damn. I lucked out. NOT!

Bilsteins & H&R sports is a great combo. coilovers are nice so you can dial in the exact ride height you want. Post on your local forum and see if you can find some local folks with suspension you want to ride in/look at. If you can find a spring/shock combo that you like the ride/look go for that.

Many people that opt for coilovers never adjust the ride height after they set it up the first time (myself included). I set my coils up, let them settle had it aligned (made a few tweeks there) and never adjusted them for winter or summer. Just to much of a PIA. I found a ride height that works for both summer & winter and left it.
