Re: replace coilpacks and still misfiring help!!!

yah, mine too. I'm stuttering around 3000-3500 rpm. just replaced the misfiring CP and changed my oil. I have to go have it logged and see whatup. It's not misfiring nearly as much as it was before replacing the CP but something is still not right.

Anyone have any ideas? Probably could be a bunch of things.

MAF, spark plugs are the two things that quickly come to mind, could even be O2 sensors

was there oil on the plugs.. it could be a valve cover gasket issue..

One way valve = check valve, yes that could do it, CV boot no..

    cv boot? really?

try sticking to things that are more engine related... specifically ignition..
how bad is the misfiring? is it just as bad as it was before?

change your spark plugs and report back.. it's best to knock the cheap stuff off the list first.

Re: replace coilpacks and still misfiring help!!!

i said the cv boot because it feels like a vibration and that can cause it but thanks pondside i will replace the one way valves tomorrow and the spark plugs i was also wondering if i should replace the pressure regulator valve and forgot to mention that it only vibrates or missfires when i accelerate

ahhh...now this is a totally different ballgame. are we talking about a shuddering on acceleration? or actual misfiring?

you need to do some logging to hands-down differentiate between the two... a shuddering under load could be all kinds of other non-engine related things... from your wheels to the bolts that hold your axles to the tranny

i had the exact same feeling of shuddering under acceleration. Thought it was driveline related. PLUGS

Check the gap on the spark plugs, all of them. Also check what the coloring on the plug looks like and post it up.
