    Transmission fluid change issues

Hey guys, I'm changing my transmission fluid, and I've switched out the filter and everything, and now I'm adding the new transmission fluid. I'm assuming it goes into the port on the side of the transmission/drive shaft, just behind the filter pan. But my car is up on jacks, and when I shift it into drive, nothing happens and the wheels don't move, even when I give it some gas. Also, I don't feel like I've added nearly as much fluid as I drained out, but it overflows out of that side port like it's full and I can't get anymore in. Any ideas?

With just a fluid and filter change I put in almost 6 liters. When I dropped the valve body that was an 8 liter change.

If you check Audipages you will find they have an excellent article on trans service.

The wheels shouldn't turn while the car is up in the air since there is no resistance on any of the wheels, so the car will act like it is not in gear. This is how the torsen(center diff) works.

the cas has to be running when filling the pan and the fluid in the tranny has to be 95 to 113 deg f and so dose the fluid you are putting in.

I just filled my fluid not to long ago.. if you have a vag-com I believe you can read the tranny fluid temps. My mechanic says that if you fill it enough. At 35C, fluid should start coming out. Also someone should be in the car shifting gears to keep the fluid level accurate.

I'll be doing full service change in another 3k miles. The oil that came out of my tranny was black and the ATF fluid color was suppose to be yellow. =/

What kind of Fluid did you use? I wanting to get my Transmission fliuid drained and change but i am hearing only the dealer ship can do it. They also saying only Audi fluids can be use. I am finding it hard to belivie. All i want to do is take out old fluid and put new fluid, new filter. They wanting to change me like 300 euro ($500) to do all that shit. On the real. Audis are getting on my nerev with all that special attention. Special attention means more money.
