Upgrading Symphony radio....?

Hi all. I am looking to upgrade my 2003 Symphony II radio to one out of a 2004. They look exactly the same except for the button that says SAT on the new one.

My question is... What to I need to make the SAT function work with the new one. This is the whole reason I bought the unit, to get the ugly Sirius tuner off my dash.

I have the radio, and I see I can plug my old SAT antenna in to the rear of it possibly. I imagine i need the tuner thing that goes in the trunk? How does this hook up? To the Changer plug?

You need the SAT receiver/tuner module. you can mount it under the dash, the sat antenna wire would need to be run up to the dash, and plugs into the sat receiver/tuner. You will need the harness between the HU and the receiver/tuner fabricated, I recommend "TeddyBGame" on the A6 Forum, or on NavPlus.us The wiring to the receiver/tuner is added to the existing ISO harness connectors, or an insert adapter harness can be made for Plug and Play install.

If you don't have a roof antenna then your car's not hard-wired already. But getting it wired up isn't so bad. See my DIY in the Telematics forum. It'll take some work and some eBaying but it can be done.
