So I just got a tint ticket, are the tint films reusuable?

So yea I finally ended up getting pulled over for my tint. I really wanna keep it on somehow, and since I don't have any connections to get it signed off, do tint shops do anything like take off the tint to be signed off then re-apply it? Thanks!

No can't be reused. In MN its kinda a fix-it ticket. if you take it off, show them they won't make you pay for the ticket. Otherwise just pay for the ticket and keep your tint on. how much is the ticket there?

Same here in Florida. It's a $75 offense here. Got one a few days ago and asked if I had to get it fixed. He acted like..."whatever".

My friend gave me a good tip right before I got tints...Take pictures of you car without the tints and save them on your computer, if you get a ticket print pics out with the current date, and take it to court saying that you took the tints off and have pictures to prove it.

He said it works every time, I find it funny though that he parks in the court parking lot with the car that still has tints on and gets the tickets taken off.

*unless you have connections* just pay the ticket, atleast thats what ive done the past 2 times (I run 5% all around). It will end up costing you more or about the same as just paying the ticket, by taking off the tint getting the ticket corrected and then paying the fix-it fine, then to do it all over again n pay for front windows to get re-tinted. Not to mention you waisting your time from work and not being able to roll down ur windows for 2 days. Now if you want to change it/take it off thats a completely different story.

i agree with the others. just pay the ticket if you dont have any hookups. it will probably cost more to get it taken off. next time, just remember to roll the windows down when cops are around.

Anytime there are cops around I just open up my sunroof cover. Seems to let enough light in that the window tint does not seem so dark.

In HB it would not matter, they would still have given me a ticket for something.

My first pull over I got a "fix it" ticket, where I just had to get it signed off but no fine. I was threatened with "multiple very harsh fines" if I didn't get it signed off.

The next three times I got pulled over, it was about a $75 fine. Those I just paid right away (since I am guilty and can't get away with it) and I just leave it on.

if you just pay it the cops will know that you have it and will most likely just keep giving you tickets for it. as far as a point goes, i wouldn't think it count, it isn't a moving violation as far as i know.

Around here usually if you do something stupid, like speed, they'll let you go and just write you up a ticket for tint. I've had it done a few times, I find tint usefull because it gets me out of other more-expensive tickets.

Besides it's only a $54 ticket here.

TooShay, Maybe you can mail the ticket to Jay B7 and he could sign it off for you and mail it back.

My son just got a fix it ticket for tint here in So Cal ($10 if you get the violation fixed). My hubby is a cop so he signed it off, I took it to the station so they could stamp the ticket and mailed to the courthouse with a $10 check. I'd ask my hubby to sign yours off but he hates it when I do that, especially if he doesn't know you - sorry :-(

FYI - I just had my front windows tint removed and a lighter tint put on. It only cost me $50. It was too dark for my taste. I have limo in the back and now I have medium in the front instead of dark.

Some tint shops take it off for you and once you get it signed off they will re-do your fronts for like $30-$40....

this happened with my last car...got pulled over for my tints and when I went to the shop, the guy asked me if I wanted to come back the next day after it was signed off and put them back on for about $40...not too bad

Tint tickets in Cali are like $125 i have gotten several of them when i had my celica. Had 5% all the way around. When i got a ticket for it i would wait till like the last day to pay it because you cant get a ticket for tint if you already have one. So you can roll around, for like a month and a half till the ticket is due and you wont get another ticket for it. But yeah its just a lot easier to just pay for it. (If you dont have a hook up that is.)

Sal, I don't know where in Cali you live but saying you can't get another ticket isn't true. They might give you a warning because you have a ticket already.

That is 2 completely different situations! If you were to get a ticket such as left blinker is out, MOST LIKELY the cop won't give you another since its a fix-it ticket. But cstarky is right, the cop can give you whatever ticket he wants to.

This is why I have 40% all around. I just don't want to have to give cops another reason to pull me over. Plus tint tickets add up, you can use that money for other mods :)

I have 50% on the fronts for exactly that reason. 35% on the back three. It's barely tinted on the front, but looks classy.
