Paint the halogen housings?

I'm up for experimenting on my halogen housings before I upgrade to the single xenon e-codes, so I was wondering if I could flat black the inner housings.

I'll probably follow the clear corner mod to get them up, I already got the heat gun to do so. Would painting the housings black ruin the amplification of the light? I figure that if that's the case, maybe I could somehow use a slightly brighter bulb to compensate.

Hey thanks a lot guys. I was searching forever under "paint/painting halogen" but nothing came up. Never would have thought it was called a "Joey Mods" lol.

Search my threads, b6lovin, rxrep and martini for a few threads on joeymodding. we all have pics up and if u have any questions feel free to ask, either here or pm. I get pm's quicker since I don't check my email as much as I check the top of this page for msgs. It's a pain in the balls to do the mod but well worth the outcome if you do it right. You won't have any issues w light output as long as u don't paint the insides of your projectors. Martini did a great write up on a4mods.

there is also a video on a4mods under the clearcorner diy to show how to take the wiring harnesses off easily without breaking the harness. big time saver when removing the housings.

A week including drinking, bars, and new years eve parties. lol. definitely advise having a case o beer on hand and an extra set of hands for prying. Helps out a lot.
