Wheels. Whats your take.

I'm planning for my car to go to ssp for a timing belt and some other basic repairs and I have become wheel hungry. I'm not going all out right now, just something thats better then stock. So.... here are my choices.

B7 RS4 in onyx

R8 wheels in hyper silver

Paint my oem wheels gun metal.


Or, tell me what you would do. Budget for the temp wheels is very low.

R8 wheels on a tight budget? Come on now. Go for some CHs / RS4 reps / Fliks if you're strapped. Make sure you put the right rubber around them too. I vote RS4s from the choices though.

Def. go with FLIKS. If there back on sale 100 bucks a wheel. you cant beat that and they look ok. They would also make great winter wheels say you go with a big brake kit and need 18in wheels. Then save and coin for some BBS

No one said buy volks, I suggested you buy a cheap wheel for now, and use the nice wheels for other things. Plus even though the poll suggets RS4 reps in onyx , word is those wheels chip alot.

I have had flik Lex's on my car for two years now. Paint has held up really well and my reason for buying them was the close resemblance to the rs4 wheels (-the whole 17" part). Plus I got em for $99 bucks a pop (and knocked 40lbs off my car).

I've been satisfied with my flik arctics for the sale price, but I don't think you can get them that cheap anymore. The reason I went with flick was the price, the weight and the BBK capability. They are my winter/track wheels and my buddies who don't really know like the fliks on my car better then my 19" real LM's. For nogaro I'd go with non-onyx RS4 reps or the DTM RS4's mentioned if you can get them cheap enough.

but ya, whats on my car def is not my 'favorite' but it does work, and the 17" are def not coming off until my tires go bald..then the upgrade comes depending on the $, and how my stg 3 budget is looking...

dont do any of that crap. if you have stockers, leave em stock. coloring is for toys, and will only bring heat to your already conspicuous car.

if you are gonna get rims then get rims. cheaper replicas or cheap brands to replace stock will only end up costing you more as they are usually shitty wheels, bend scratch easily etc.

so just stay w stock, as they are strong and work fine. if anything get some spacers and widen the stance up and you'll be surprised by how good stockers look.

Grr, I still cant make up my mind but i think i'll throw on some 3mm spacers that were loaned to someone, from someone. Who wants them back and see how they look.
