Nav map says I"m in the middle of Pacific Ocean...

but surprisingly, I am not. This used to be a fairly common problem on Benz navigation, and an easy fix. Anyone know what it takes on this nav? Can I fix it from the menu? Thanks, no dealer for 150 miles, so hope I can make some progress....

That's pretty bizzare. Maybe it needs to re-adapt to the GPS satellites to correct you actual location?

Maybe your nav system is only locked on one satellite and it can't do a differential calculation?

I have a feeling that you may need to force the system to re-aquire the GPS satellites again. This might require a VAG-COM.

You might want to browse on http://navplus.us for more info.

Re: Nav map..Daft, that's what I thought too...

I was in ATL yesterday, and the folks at Nalley Audi were nice enough to at least diagnose it for me without an appointment. They say the control unit is defective, and of course, it's super expensive (about $1200). I have the part number, and maybe I'll search for one on ebay. Wonder if Becker rebuilds/repairs these things, does anyone know? I know from experience that they do a lot of rebuilds/updates on other Becker items, or maybe someone else does. Thanks to anyone who can tell me...

What year is your car? There have been several different part numbers for that part since 2005.

    Navigation Unit w/Software:

    Part # 4E0 910 887 K = 2005
    Part # 4E0 910 887 N = 2006
    Part # 4E0 910 888 C = 2007 VIN 000001 - 073000
    Part # 4E0 910 888 D = 2007 VIN 073001 >>
    Part # 4E0 910 888 F = 2008

You might want to look on www.car-part.com and see what turns up. It's a salvage yard search.
There's also www.shokan.com which is a big Audi dismantler in upstate NY.
