    Surface scratch removal

Seems someone brushed up against my car with a keychain/laptop bag/backpack/etc, resulting in a scratch about 10inches in length. Just a mild paint scratch, I only noticed the scratch after cleaning the car. What is the best method for removing such a scratch?

    Thanks in advance.

First you'll need to determine if the scratch can be removed first. Take your index finger, or any finger at that...run your finger nail across the scratch. If your finger nail catches on the scratch, it more than likely will not be able to be removed by polishing. There are many variables that come into play to determine if the scratch can be removed or not. If it cant be removed, and can be diminished drastically by polishing...

Depending on how much clear coat is present, it may be wetsanded, then polished out, but there is a risk of burning through the paint.

Post some pictures, that will help us determine, yay or nay!
