Clutch - Transmission Failure

Bad news from my Audi...

Suddenly yesterday, I couldnt shift any gear with the car turned on, whereas I could with the car switched off...

We tested the clutch pumps, as it is a hydraulic clutch that we have, and we concluded that I needed the whole Clutch kit...

I ordered Sachs Racing Organic Clutch Kit, and I am waiting for it to arrive so as to put it on and get my car back

Well, on the good side you get an upgraded clutch.

On the bad side, your paying a lot of money

Yeah, that is correct my friend...However, I thought, that if the car was going in my mechanic, do the right thing and get an upgraded racing clutch...
Yes the money are serious, but choosing the Sachs, I hope I am not going to worry about my clutch again...

how many miles did you have on the car when it failed?

and how much is the new one costing you?

It had 35500 Km. Not more for a new clutch kit...
Anywayz the new will go about 1200 euros, that is somewhat more than $1500...

my clutch started slipping around 68,000 miles... i threw down for a stage 2 southbend clutch and I am HAPPY! It feels A LOT better than the stock clutch and broke in easily. You will like the upgrade!

The fianacial aspect of your upgrade shouldn't be of great concern, considering that your a doctor.

1. I am a medical student, 6th year of Medicine in Aristotelio University
2. I dont know how much money do doctors make in the US, but here in Greece, if you expect to become a millionaire from medicine, you are living in another planet...
You become a doctor because you love it...

So quit the ironic comments, unless my english is so bad, I didnt understand.

I'm pretty sure that was a sarcastic comment. And MD's in US make A LOT of money. I know, I work with a lot of them.

Well I found that things are on the way to my mechanic...
The transmission box came down, and it was in awful situation...
Photos will be taken tomorrow to share them with you...
My mechanic said that the old one was out into pieces...Gee...I didnt see that one coming...

My father is a Dr. and has managed his own practice for years and doesn't make a ton of money. Six figures easily but with heavy, heavy expenses. Being in medicine is not a cash cow anymore with insurance and taxes being so high.
