    255/35/19s on 19x8.5 VMR RS4 reps?

Is anyone running 255/35/19 tires on their 19" VMR RS4 reps? Im on the stock sport suspension and the recommended sixe is 245/35, so I didnt think the 255/35 would be an issue, but want to get the Audizine expert's opinions.

I wanted something with a little more side wall to fill out the gap a little. I know that the side wall only goes up about 0.25 inches, so is it even worth it?

    Thanks for the info.

I'm running 245/35/19 dropped and it's perfect,no rubbing. With the sport suspension you should be fine but if you go any lower you're probably gonna rub a lot.

oh and the first number is the width of the wheel, not the sidewall. So if they recommend 245/35 and you want more sidewall you go with 245/45 or something...255/35 and 245/35 have the same sidewall

I have the VMR v715 with 245/35/R19 and I sometimes rub on dips on the road(lowered on coilovers).

They'll have a simialr side wall, but the '35' is actually a percent of the width. So the 35% of 255 is slightly larger than 35% of 235.

Like I said, we are only talking about 1/4 inch, but visually woudl it make a difference?

go with the 245 or 235, 255 is gonna be too big, I ran into that problem with my 245/40/18's on a 18x8.5

nsmith12 - so you even rubbed on 19x8.5 with 245/35/18s? Im surprised. Were you lowered on the Stasis kit in your signature. If I go with 18" wheels on the stock sport suspension, I think that size would work.

No the problem wasn't rubbing at all, the problem was the tire was actually too wide (245) for the 8.5" tire. It hung over the wheel at the correct PSI for the tire and it actually hurt performance. I now have a 19x8.5 with 235/35/19 with and a 25.25" ride height on front and rear with my Stasis Coils and it doesn't rub at all.

So to reintorate the problem isn't that you will rub (you might), the problem is that you need the correct size tire because in this case bigger/wider isn't always better and especially in this case. PM me if you have any more questions.

And visually it looked bad, it poked out and hurt the look of the wheel

We don't recommend 255's for A4's. Only A6's. You can probably full it off with some modifications.

You can run a 40 to fudge a gap, the tire you pick also has a lot to do with how wide/sidewall looks.
