Well I switched gears in my setup at first i was going to bolt my kit to a bone stock 2.7 setup and run the gt2560ss...
After really looking at my engine i started finding several oil leaks that i couldn't find when I was driving the car, lower oil pan, upper oil pan, front crankshaft seal, valve cover gasket.
Since I would be taking 80% of the motor apart i would be crazy not to freshen the motor up, i was completely shocked when i took the motor apart and find the bearings and cylinders honestly looking brand new.
After looking at the rods and the tiny 5/16 rod bolts and the way there made i can see why the rods fail, i took the rods to a very well known local top fuel guy who's been building dragsters and land speed cars/everything in between for 40 years. I didn't say 1 word i handed him the rod and his words where "thats a really said rod bolt" all i could do is laugh..
I do have the upgraded rod bolts from ARP, but decided to buy rods as Alex, from Vag really made it worth it for me..
The setup will still be simple and full interior,
Stock 2.7 heads&cams,springs,retainers
2.7 intake manifold&throttle body
Stock Y pipe for now until I make one
My aluminum Bi-pipes
My GT2560 kit
Either custom dual 2.5 inch or single 3.5 inch exhaust with CATS/CAT
This will be a real basic setup and my goal for the car is not to build the fastest or most hp car out there, but to have a really fun practical car i could drive all year long and not worry if i wish to put the car seat in for my baby.. Also for that occasional race/expressway blast
