ive seen an 07 Ibis white on here that has done it, i cant find it anymore. i typed in color matched filler plate, anyone have a link to it?

Anyways i have an 07 A4 S-line Ibis White, i want to color match the front filler plate, most people black it out, im also getting some white done inside the headlights in the front, where the greyish color is. Pics to follow.

Made the thread mainly to see if anyone has a link to any color matched filler plates.

I don't know if I'd do this on Ibis but to each his own....

Re: thinking about color matching front filler plate

I think it robs the trademark Audi large Trapezoid grill of it's impact. IMHO it doesn't look good and just makes it look like every other car. It looks more like a mod for the sake of modding rather than an actual improvement in style. In other words, if they had already come color matched, I bet you some people would be looking to switch it out to the black out or black gloss filler plate. But we all have different tastes... so to each his own.

If I had white, I would leave it the same finish of black that the grill is. to whatever you want to do though

Hmm I see what u guys are going with.

Its just an idea, I wanted to see what it looked like again that's why I made the thread, I couldn't find the one I saw.

So u guys think it would look better with the black filler plate rather than the grey stock one??

    Pics would be helpful.

I think the white doesn't look good for some reason. Just doesn't flow to me. However, I think QG Color match looks fantastic!

What about the lower area of the Headlights.

Where its like a strip of grey, I was thinking about color matching that to white also, or maybe even gloss black?

Re: thinking about color matching front filler plate

i think i saw the same ibis white color match. thought it looked good, but the contrast of black against the white car would be sweet. either beats the stock gray!

I'm doing the Black liner in the headlights for sure, and I'm going to do the front filler also, if it doesn't come out good I can always buy the black one.

Re: thinking about color matching front filler plate

painting it will look good but many people who painted theirs claim to catch chips in theirs to the point that they replaced them with the original or with the flat black ones. i decided its safer to have it painted but to paint the original one with the front plate so that the plate catches most of the road debris. does it look as good as a painted filler plate? nope. will it hold up better? hopefully....

Re: thinking about color matching front filler plate

I didn't paint mine ... I ordered a piece of color matched adhesive vinyl and I am just going to wrap it. I can always remove it later and it was real cheap.

P.S. My car is black and I have the blackout grille ... so I think the gray filler throws everything off.
